The First Letatras Church

"So... You ran down the whole forest to hide there, back in the days ?"

It's been almost half an hour since the two stopped talking, so, when Asaki finally got the occasion, he tried to start once again a conversation.

"It's more complex, but yeah."

Now that they were finally not that far from the church, the young man also realized something else. Something that should've come first in his plan.

'And... Now, what do I do ?'

Until now, his ambition just kept pushing him to the church again and again, because of that strange dream he experienced during his sleep. But, now that the church was there, what could be the next step ?

"Shall we... Enter ?"

Said once again Celia, waiting for Asaki's instruction since she herself didn't know what they needed to do here. At the same moment, a cold wind lifted the two survivor's hair, also freezing in place their bodies for a second.

If they didn't wanted to die by coldness, it seemed to be the only option...

"Let's enter."

Slowly, Asaki and Celia walked across the light-brown road leading to the church's entrance, night and darkness quickly following them as the sun, now almost removed from the sky, stopped reaching the church's symbol.

Each step Asaki took on this road, each less meter separating him from this building... Even he, didn't know if his body will be able to endure those sensations for any longer.

Strangely, when Celia arrived in front of the door, the young woman just had to slightly push the giant wooden door to fully open it. Not only was it broken, but also looked as if it was waiting for the two of them to arrive there since days.

The awkward welcome the church was offering them, only reinforced even more Asaki's fear and disgust as he prepared to enter. Celia did the same, slowly pulling out of her pocket a long and sharp kitchen knife which she had stolen, once again.

"I'll go first."

However, said the young man, even if the girl had at least ten time his chances to survive if something waited for them inside.

But... Taking the risk to sacrifice an Aurora for a dream, wasn't something Asaki was willing to do. It was his idea, and so his responsibility, although each step increased his fear so much that he felt on the verge of fainting each time.

"As..."

It was too late, the young man already walking through the gigantic wooden arch encrusted inside of the pristine wall themselves.

And soon, the until now darkness and silence of the church...

Filled with light and life.

°°°

The church's inside was... Exactly as Asaki imagined it. The walls were as white as outside, even if their base was slightly covered by some woods, surely to make it possible to hung painting or other stuff...

Two rows of long wooden bench were also dreadfully standing on the magnificent ground, where the tiles formed various portraits and symbols in a wide diversity of colors. As the church was, it was more likely white and golden colors which covered the ground, but surprisingly, also a lot of purple.

"White and purple..."

It reminded Asaki of... Himself. Strangely, it felt nice to be in a place looking like it was made exactly for him, or inspired by him.

Even if of course, he wasn't the only white haired man with purple eyes in the world.

Steps reverberated inside the church as Celia soon joined him, firmly holding a flashlight in his direction. Inside of this pristine paradise, she even more strangely... Seemed in the right place too.

After all, she was an angel herself.

"You don't seem that surprised by a Letatras Church."

Said the Aurora with a short smile, visibly slightly amused and surprised by the face Asaki was probably making right now.

"You too."

This small little game where each of them didn't wanted to admit that they already got in a lot of different church was indeed, pretty amusing. It was something a bit forbid, a bit shameful, and yet, both kept continuing to imply that the other was a believer.

Compared to the ambience which surrounded them when Asaki told her some of the things he knew, it was fair better.

"Haha, so... What are we looking for ?"

Changing between emotions so quickly, to go from sadness and fear to joy and cheer, Celia was really something else. Not really surprising though, since as an Aurora her mental also got trained a lot.

"I wish I knew."

Simply replied the young man, walking across the rows of bench to look at the diverse altars dressing at each corner of the church...

... And also at its bottom, where more shining and beautiful ones dressed.

Above Asaki's head, also dressed beautiful sculptures encrusted to the roof. The light gray and white spikes of stone trying to reach one of the most beautiful altar seemed to represent mountains ; While multiple golden point surrounded by thousand or iron blades were encrusted above the most sublime, and big, altar of all.

The third most beautiful, however, showed above its form a light blue paint where clouds made out of wool proudly stood, the paint was... Absolutely divine, Asaki thought at first that it was the real sky because of its beauty.

And each of the others altars, not dressing at the end of the rows but surrounding them, also all had some kind of same symbols into the roof.

In the middle of the church, finally stood, also encrusted to the roof, a gigantic chandelier, made out of a lot of different materials like gold, silver and also...

Strangely transparent crystals. Some white, and some utterly purple, surely amethyst.

"You don't know why you made us come here ??"

Oh... The girl had indeed replied, Asaki almost forgot about her during a few seconds, because of all the information which surrounded him.

"Not yet, but don't worry, I'm sure that there is something."

Celia wasn't peculiarly angry or anything for being here, but still surprised that the one who leaded them didn't even know why. She quickly caught up with Asaki, her black small boot's steps still echoing throughout the silent kingdom.

"How can you be so sure about it ?"

The man smiled some second, finally reaching the altar at the right of the bottom of the church, where the stone mountain, and now visible crystals, stood everywhere around it.

"For the same reason as you are Celia..."

On the altar, stood a pristine dagger, an utterly beautiful dagger, which made Asaki's heart suddenly race. Above its pure snow-like handle, had slowly grown some amethysts, also covering the base of the silver blade.

Strangely, an awkward warmth was emanating from it, although Asaki knew that surely only him, could sense it.

'Maybe that...'

Asaki instinctively knew that this dagger was probably, what he was looking for. His heart hadn't slowed down even a little since his purple eyes met the amethyst, and his soul...

Continuously screamed to reach for this warmth, awkwardly feeling a lot familiar...

"Huh ? What do you mean ?"

Oh... Asaki had indeed, forgot to tell her the most important discovery he made out of all the one he already told her.

With intelligence, and a bit of arrogance, the man suddenly turned to face the girl, a slight smirk recovering once again his lips.

"You also had a dream during our long sleep..."

The first part of his sentence instantly made the girl's eyes widened, as she looked with surprise and disbelief at the man.

"... Wasn't this what you hesitated for so long to tell me ?"
