Valkyrie Crusade Summoner

A story about a guy using one of the best games ever in an anime world. I created and worked on this on and off for a long time after learning that this game will be discontinued after 8 long years. I don't know if I'm going to continue it or not just yet. 1 year anniversary after the game shut down.

Chapter 1

I stared at the clock impatiently waiting for the last class of the day to end. Thankfully, the teacher was letting us do whatever we wanted for the last 20 minutes of every Friday.

I was tapping my desk impatiently, watching as the clock slowly ticked by, thinking about which Call of Duty I should play first, then maybe watch a few animes and start on my homework on Monday morning before class starts.

I slouched down on my desk, feeling so bored. I looked back at the clock, noticing that there were 15 minutes left until I could go home. I took out my phone and started playing my favorite mobile game, Valkyrie Crusade. It's such a fun game with very attractive characters and beautiful artwork even if it's starting to get a little overcomplicated with the new elemental crystals and the LR cards.

After 14 minutes, I soon noticed my friend Kevin, a quiet kid who mostly kept to himself, gripping his backpack hard between his fingers and breathing heavily while looking around nervously. He soon stood up and walked quickly to the door ignoring our teacher to tell him to sit back down.

*Brrring~*

"Freedom!"

"No more lessons!"

"No more boring teachers telling us to do our work!"

"Hey! I resent that comment, Kenny."

Everyone started picking their stuff up and stood up. I started to get up when my other desk mate next to me gasped in shock causing me to turn my head towards her.

She was staring at Kevin who was blocking the front door with a machine gun in his hands. I then looked around and noticed everyone was now looking at him, terrified. I saw him giving me a regretful look, and then the next thing I knew, everything turned black.

[Welcome to the afterlife, John! Rejoice, as your boring life is now over like you wished for! Don't despair though, because your new life will now be filled with excitement, horror, betrayal, and most likely romance!]

{Countdown 00:00:10}

I staggered back onto a chair that appeared underneath me. I felt numb staring at the screen as the countdown finished.

[Countdown 00:00:00]

It soon disappeared and someone popped up sitting on a chair and a desk in front of me. I felt my eyes widen in shock when I saw her. She looked like Aqua but more beautiful and holy.

... ... ...

"A...Aqua?" I asked flabbergasted.

"No, I'm not Aqua," She began to say shaking her head in denial, "I'm using an image from your subconscious to talk to you directly so you don't lose your mind to grief. You may call me Aqua if you would prefer."

"I... I see." I nodded not to think of anything and trying to go with the flow.

"Congratulations, you will be given a new life with a job class that is suited for you." Not Aqua said, moving her hand on the desk, and a window appeared above.

[Gained Job Class: Summoner]

[Pick a type of Summoning]

• Elemental Summoning

• Angelic Summoning

• Demonic Summoning

• Monster Summoning

• Yu Gi Oh Summoning

• Age of Ishtaria Summoning

• Valkyrie Crusade Summoning

• Deadman Cross Summoning

• Taimanin Summoning

I didn't know how long I stared at the screen without reading it. I just sat there with not Aqua and the endless darkness for company. After what felt like hours, I finally started to read it, and I felt confused.

"Um, Lady Aqua, it doesn't say which world I'll be going to, only the job class. Do you choose it or can I pick it?"

"It is randomized and will be selected after you carefully pick your summon type from the list and complete the tutorial. I don't want to send you somewhere without you knowing how it works after all. Before you ask, yes you'll still have your own body."

I nodded, very grateful, remembering most if not all, other people were instantly sent after getting something. I took my time to decompress and eventually decided to look it over before picking one.

I dismissed the first four on top since it's redundant because the other five have similar or more powerful creatures and spells.

I Instantly picked my top four choices Valkyrie Crusade, Age of Ishtaria, Taimanin, and Yu-Gi-Oh.

No, I have to choose wisely and I can't pick any one choice without thinking it through. Even if they all have beautiful artwork and interesting character designs. I shook my head trying to clear the sexy images from my mind, 'I can't think with my dick, no matter how much I want to. This is my life we're talking about here.'

Even though I want to pick Taimanin so badly that it hurts, I choose not to in the end. NTR is a very strong possibility that could happen with so many bad ends that I've seen. It could even be bait for the bad ends to start.

Deadman Cross is Instantly out because, if I remember right, it has zombies as summons. I'm not sure if I'm immune from getting infected nor do I have a cure if other people get infected. It would be interesting if I was going to play as a necromancer with all those creatures.

I looked at her to ask a question, and she spoke before I could, "No, you wouldn't be infected by the zombie virus, but others will be."

"I see," I said slightly disappointed, but I ignored it. Maybe in another life, I can command legions of unique zombies.

I then focused on the Age of Ishtaria, and my mind came up blank. I don't remember much about it other than that I played it a long time ago and remembered the artwork of Arthur bathing with Mordred.

I felt conflicted about the Valkyrie Crusade. It has very powerful valkyries, but I might not have the resources to raise their levels like in the game. Not to mention that they could be nerfed hard early on.

Yu-Gi-Oh should be the obvious choice since it has spell and trap cards like Mirror Force and Monster Reborn. Even so, my eyes kept moving back to Valkyrie Crusade.

"I choose Valkyrie Crusade."

"Of course," She pressed a button on the table before looking up at me, "Good luck with the tutorial. May you have a pleasant journey." Not Aqua told me, giving me a nice smile before everything turned black.

Tribute to the greatest android game I ever played that lasted through my teen years into my adulthood. You will be missed.
