Finishing his introduction, His eyes as well as clothing returned to their former colors and of course, his coat disappeared the moment he sat down.
Without a care of how the others were doing, he began to feast on his food.
As he slowly savored the taste of his food, a carefree smile appeared on his...
A big contrast to the horrified expressions of his hosts.
Who could blame them, A man with such a terrifying aura had just introduced himself as The Blue-Eyed Demon, a nightmare the world is unable to forget.
With Ruthven continuing his dining, the mansion was still silent towards the words they just heard, the sound of hands clapping together broke the tension.
"You truly are something Mr. Ruthven," said Nicholas, "to think that you can exclude such aura at such a young age... Even if you're the true descendant of The Blue-Eyed Demon, this is truly amazing. "
As Nicholas continued with his so-called praises for the 'True Descendant of The Blue-Eyed Demon', Ruthven's eyes couldn't help but twitch.
Was he just called his descendant? Furthermore, how is he 'young'?
Wanting to lash out at Nicholas for his disrespect, Ruthven was interrupted by Bergroar's loud voice.
"Haha so that's how it is," He said, "You're a descendant of the Blue-Eyed Demon!!"
Hearing this, Ruthven Froze in Place...
What was wrong with these people? He wanted to ask.
But once again, Nicholas spoke up... "I didn't believe you when you told me at first, but now you've proven yourself."
Soon, Not just Nicholas and Bergroar, the entire room had joined in praising Ruthven.
The praises continued for a while till finally, everyone was focusing on the food before them.
But just before they could eat, Nicholas suddenly stood up and bowed to the table...
"I'll have to apologize, but there's something I need to attend to."
Not waiting for anyone to ask why, Nicholas excused himself out of the dining room.
His actions however seemed to anger Bergroar, but due to the presence of Ruthven, he wasn't able to act on it.
"Am sorry for my son's behavior," He said, his hand clenching into a hard fist under the table. "I hope you don't take it to heart, he's a Young one after all."
"Am not offended in the least." Were Ruthven's words to this action?
Once again, the dinner continued, this time without any mishaps.
-----
When the dinner ended, Ruthven and Bergroar stood outside the dining room...
"It was lovely meeting you Sir Ruthven." was said by the bowing Bergroar.
"As always, Lord Bergroar. " Ruthven responded, trying his best to sound polite.
"I've been informed that Elizabeth here has been your escort, so I hope you don't mind if I appoint her as your maid while you're inside the mansion?" Were Bergroar's words.
Ruthven looked behind Bergroar, where Elizabeth had been standing with her eyes closed.
Smiling at the beautiful maid, "Not at all Lord Bergroar.... I'd be honored" Ruthven said.
Elizabeth opened her eyes immediately as she heard this, that's when her eyes met with Ruthven's.
Once again, Her heart skipped a beat.
Seeing Elizabeth's reaction, Bergroar gave a knowing smile before bidding farewell to the two and heading to his office.
With no one else but Elizabeth and Ruthveininnin in front of in each other...
An awkward silence filled the hallway, only to be broken off by Ruthven's laughter.
"Formal Dinners sure are a hassle!" He said, "Anyways, are you gonna guide me to my room or...?"
"Right, this was Sir R... Master." Elizabeth bowed pointing towards the other end of the hallway.
Now walking towards Ruthven's room, An awkward silence found its way between the two once again.
Feeling uncomfortable in their current situation, Ruthven tried to strike up a conversation...
"Hey..." He called out, "Since you are my maid for the Time being, mind telling me a bit about yourself?"
Shocked by what she just heard, Elizabeth stopped all of a sudden and turned to look at Ruthven.
Thinking that the maid was going to comply, Ruthven was caught off guard when she abruptly bowed...
"Am sorry master, but this lovely maid has nothing to tell you!" She said.
Looking at the sudden change in attitude, Ruthven looked at Elizabeth with a frown on his face.
The latter on the other hand, felt an intense gaze on her and shivered profusely, The next moment she heard the sound of a tongue clicking.
Raising her head, she noticed that Ruthven was already walking past her and towards his room.
Not knowing what to do, she followed him, staying a few feet away from him
Not long after, they had reached Ruthven's room, and what they saw shocked them both.
Nicholas was waiting outside his room, and from the looks of it, he had something important to discuss.
As soon as Nicholas noticed the two people approaching the door, he hurriedly approached them.
Ruthven at first was interested in his reason for being outside his door but as Nicholas approached him and bowed...
His interest turned into confusion.
But before he could say anything, Elizabeth's voice was heard...
"I'd like to be excused, Master."
Sensing that something big was about to happen, Elizabeth deemed that being present wouldn't help anything...
"You excused!" said Nicholas.
Without waiting any longer, Elizabeth took her leave and the two, Nicholas and Ruthven entered the latter's room.
And when inside, Ruthven couldn't help but raise a brow.
Expect for the bowing Nicholas and a younger version of Albert, Ruthven's room was filled with bowing maids numbering close to fifty.
And as soon as they took notice of Ruthven, in unison they all greeted...
"WE GREET THE FOUNDING DEMON!!!"
