Sparta, The Bay Of Seals, 5th moon of 130 AC
(ARTHUR POV)
Opening the journal to the page Corlys has marked im stunned beyond believe. To think the old bastard actually gave a shit.....
It's too much. I decided I need to clear my head. I need to think. To plan. To reevaluate what I thought was fact.
My thoughts must've ran across my face like water down a river bed, because I get a warm sensation. Looking down I see Rhaena holding my arm like she did on our walk through the red river.
Trying to take my mind off the way she smells I speak to Corlys. However, the look on his face tells me he's watching our interaction with eyes even better than my Artemis.
(Corlys. When do you and the princess need to be back?)
Seemingly taken aback by my question he takes a second to respond.
(Soon. I fear for what the triarch may do should we not be back and prepared for their inevitable arrival. Before leaving Dragonstone they were already ammassing their forces. So any delay of time is going to come back to hurt us later.)
I nod and think back to what he said about the man who gave him my grandfathers journal. Wondering how I can find him. Then it hits me like a morning star, lord Corlys has blood of Valyria. That's already half the battle.
I take out a dragon glass dagger, walk up to the fire in the room and motion Corlys to me.
(Cut your hand. Let the blood pool then throw it into the fire.) he looks to make a retort, but my own bleeding left hand stops him.
Taking the dagger he does what I do and let's his blood pool. Afterwards he throws it into the fire that becomes a light blue, matching his house colors.
However, when my blood hits the fire and my words reach the blood, the flame changes completely.
(Show me who I seek. Show me Davon.)
I say to the fire, resulting in it becoming as black as night. Then slowly morphing into grey and then white.
Finally the white flame gives me what I seek. Except again in one day of meeting Corlys I myself am shocked. For the man who looks back at me from the fire is a man Id recognize anywhere.
He was one of my favorite characters in game of thrones. Wait! Davon. Of course. Davos' ancestor. This is perfect! I needed an experienced sailor who wasn't Ibbenese.
For while balin and his people could build ships others had never expected, that was it. They just built them. Captaining them is an entirely different story.
I want them to makeup the majority of the populous of the former kings house port. And if the man I seek is anything like his descendant, I'll have one of the most perfect second in command in the entire world.

I look back at Corlys and Rhaena and see their eyes moonwide. Ha! Magic isn't common. Especially to people so engrossed in andal teachings they don't even know it. I'll have to speak to them on this before we leave.
So much to do. So little time.

CORLYS POV
Watching Valyrian magic being performed is shocking. Even more shocking is the man who gave me the books face showing up in the fire after Arthur told it to let it see him. I can't hold my excitement in anymore.
(Incredible! Lord Arthur surely you know that since the doom magic has been slowly fading from our world. How do you perform it?)
He let out a small chuckle before replying, (that is a regular ability of my family. One of our gifts. The Targaryens are blessed with dragon dreams. While your family seems to have forgotten its own ability.)
Hearing about the velaryons 'ability' made my mind race before I can even speak though lord Valhalla continues.
(I know not why you're family has lost this ability. But I wish to help you see it return. Beware however, for magic is a complex thing. One that always gets its due. Give me what you believe to be your most prized possession and we shall begin.)
And with that my entire world shifted.

(RHEANA POV)
I watch my grandfather pull out a ribbon. The thing looks older than me. Before either Arthur or I can ask he explains.
(Tis the favor gifted to me by my wife the first time I left to make my adventures. We were not even married yet. Just two young kids.)
My grandfather explains In a soft voice. Arthur merely nods, Takes the ribbon, and sacrifices it to the fire while speaking. (Velaryon blood is needed)
My grandfather throws is already bloody palm toward the fire. And instantly it changes to a vibrant bright blue. Arthur speaks in that melodious tone that sends shivers up my back to my nape, back down to my feet.
(Return to him what was lost. Show him how swift the seas can truly be. Let him be at home no matter where In the world he may set to sea. For this is the way of the seahorse. In the name of Valhalla, return his gift.)
And like a slave listening to his master the fire instantly goes out completely. Not even leaving a smoke trail. I go to ask my grandfather if he feels differently, only to see him be caught by lord Valhalla.
(Worry not Rhaena. Magic always takes something in return. His body is trying to get used to the new power that's been released into his blood. I'll have a few men carry him to his room. You're more than welcome to stay with him until he wakes.)
And although I wanted to keep talking to him I was nervous about the condition of the sea snake. So I agreed while he called for a new maid I haven't seen before.
If I'm honest she's the most beautiful women I've seen on this island. A part of my stomach twists and turns at the idea of why a young man like Arthur would keep her close by.
Seemingly oblivious to my annoyance he speaks to the beautiful women. ""Marla, please escort lady Rhaeana and lord Corlys back to his room."" He says as two guards follow Marla to help carry my grandfather.
As we walk in silence save for the clinks of metal on the guards body Marla turns to me with a motherly smile. And speaks in the common tongue. Something that shocks me as everyone here used the old tongue of the north to speak.
"Do not be upset with lord Valhalla. I and my fellow servants offered our services when he slew the former lord of this island." She said in a relieved voice I haven't heard even from people who'd been locked in a dungeon.
My curiosity was raging like dragon fire about the man I met today. I respond. "And what made you so welcoming of a new, unknown man?"
Although I myself know. I'm a woman too. And any woman who looked Into those eyes while that beautiful, curly white hair danced against the tie he had it in. I wanted to badly to rip it out and see his hair sway freely.
Getting rid of my thoughts i hear Marla's response, "because he saved us. The lord sten always did his 'duty' by claiming the right of the first night. Many a daughter and mother suffered under his hand." Marla says in a tone that tells me more than she's saying. She or someone close to her felt this suffering first hand.
Now I'm slightly embarrassed with being so mad at this women for absolutely nothing. Signing I make my way with her through the hallways of Windsor castle. Trying to get my head right for the next time I speak with Arthur.
For I wish to tell him. Show him. That he isn't alone. That he can talk to me. My dreams haven't been for nought. This makes me happier than even being on the island itself.
'To all the gods. I need to stay here. Allow me this mercy please' I pray to any deity listening as I arrive in my grandfathers room to await his awakening.
—————————
At the hour of the wolf we try to speak to Arthur again but are informed by Marla that he's not in Windsor and won't return until morning. When asked why she merely shook her head.
"Tis not my place to question the man who gave us food and warmth princess. For it does not matter to me or any other Spartan. We know the real lord Valhalla, even if he tries desperately to keep his cold mask up, no man can look at children not his own with such sadness and caring, yet lord Arthur did when seeing how skinny the children of this island were when we arrived.
Though I won't say he killed lord stane simply for that alone, it was surely one of the reasons." Nodding my head in defeat i and grandfather Corlys await his return.

(ARTHUR POV).
Making my way to the giants land I think over what has happened today.
'I met the famous sea snake. And I Got him to pass out. Ha!'
'I also met Rhaena. The most underrated Targaryen in the dance in my humble opinion. Not only is she caring and smart from what I've seen, she's absolutely stunning.
This tells me all I need to know as to why she's here. The Targaryens wish to tie us together. While I myself am not opposed to such an idea, I will never do so without speaking to daemon first.
I'm from the 21st century. You speak to a womens father if you wish to marry her. This is Somehting I will continue with my own children. I will not put them into political marriages. I will however lay out the families they're allowed to marry into once they understand my reasons for why those families.
So unfortunately for queen Rhaenyra, she will not get a black dragon so easily.
Arriving at my destination I see mag, woo, leaf, bark, and Denlen all waiting for me.
Before I can even speak lead hands me a huge stick of weirwood. Nearly 20 ft long.
I speak to my council, ""this, my friends is how we're going to kill vhagar.""
AN. There is the chapter. Hope you enjoy it. Next we'll see what Cregan saw in the vision when speaking to the gods as well as baelas thoughts on this mysterious dragon lord that's taken the realm by storm.
Love and appreciate each and every one of you. Live long and prosper 🖖❤️
