Miss Me

Eros contemplated changing his reckless lifestyle, but he had no intentions of a complete transformation. Giving up his playboy ways would only make life boring, and that was not his goal and it will make his father happy. Which of course he never wanted.

What he wanted was to give his father “the calm before the storm” – a shock that would leave his father stunned causing his father heart to beat faster than the normal heartbeat per second or minute but not cause him a heart attack. He was determined to make his father experience the emotional pain he had caused.

Two months had passed since his father’s departure. Eros was on his best behavior because he had no desire to return to Athens. Just the thought of returning filled him with anger. It made his blood to boiled like a volcano ready to erupt. He resorted to focusing on his studies, hoping to avoid the inevitable showdown that awaited him.

On this particular day which happened to be Thursday, he headed to school in a good mood. Dressed in a grey polo shirt that complemented his eyes, blue jeans, and Jordan Air Force sneakers, he whistled his way down the hallway, car keys swinging in one hand and the other had held his grey backpack that was slung over his shoulder.

He encountered someone who had been avoiding him as if he was contagious. Her rejection had hurt him deeply, as no female had ever dared to do what she did. Elsa had once been a member of his unassuming entourage, but she had suddenly ceased giving him the attention he was accustomed to.

Typically, girls flocked to him like bees to a flower who wants a pollen, eager for his attention.

He loved the attend that he received from girls but he loved the attention Elsa used to give him before everything. He knew that she had been crushing him for a long time but it was difficult to notice her among the other bees flying around him.

She was the queen bee, she was the girl you never noticed. Just how it is in the bees kingdom, it is very difficult to see the Queen - only her servants are seen. For him that’s how Elsa was.

He knew she was beautiful but today, Elsa was radiant in her beauty, her long dark hair cascading over her shoulders. She wore a brown coat that stopped just above her knees, revealing a sky-blue blouse, a white miniskirt, and knee-high black boots. Eros was mesmerized by her beauty once again.

Her presence demanded attention, she was a very quite person who spoke when she spoken to, or when someone is abusing another person, but her aura demanded attend.

Unable to resist, he made his way toward her, propelled by a force beyond his control.

Elsa was lost in her thoughts, she didn’t notice the person she have started to hate approaching her. The recent changes in her body and emotions weighed heavily on her, and she couldn’t understand what was happening.

She didn’t want to leave earth early like her mother, she haven’t even full filled all her wishes. She had never even played the game she had been wishing to play “all my life” a game she so dearly wanted to play.

She knew that life has stolen a lot from her, but she wasn’t ready for it to gift her with sickness. She prayed every day, hoping she wasn’t suffering from an unknown illness, fearing she might leave this world prematurely.

“Earth to Elsa!”

“Who is this person? What do they want? Can’t they give someone peace?” she pounded.

Sometimes she had constant fight with her negative subconscious “how can a male love you when the man who brought you on earth doesn’t even care about your existence. You are pathetic to think that you will ever be love by a male! No wonder, why Eros used you and dump you. He cloud smell how unloved you are by male species that is why he never wanted anything more with unloved human like you.” It would mock her daily.

Elsa had a very strong mind control but the truth is ever human has somethings that trigged them and what happened on Valentine’s still hunt her.

“Earth to Elsa!” she heard the voice again.

She heard the voice. It was so close but in her mind it sounded far away. Her mind was running wild.

The cruel words of her subconscious haunted her and was replaying in her head. What had happened on Valentine’s Day still affected her. She heard the voice calling her name and responded with irritation, not wanting any more fake friendships or superficial relationships.

“Elsa… Elsa, are you okay?” the voice continued, shaking her gently to draw her back from her thoughts.

She was frozen in place, unable to react to his initial question.

When she finally managed to reply “I... I am okay!” her voice was barely audible, her head lifting slowly to see the person before her. She was shocked when she recognized him, and her face turned even whiter, as if she had seen a ghost.

“Miss me?” he whispered, leaning in to covering his lips with hers.
