Chapter 28 - Attack of the Armadillons (4)

"No! They are coming straight at us."

"What should we do?"

The bald middle-aged militia gritted his teeth at his comrades' behavior. "Lads!" the bald, middle-aged militia stomped his makeshift spear on the ground. "Look! Monsters are coming our way. Those kids are good, but there are only three of them. Don't forget, they are here to help us fend off these bastards trying to trample our home. In the end, it still falls to us to defend our families and our own homes. Besides, how would you feel if you relied on kids to defend your home while not doing anything yourself? Are you guys even a man?" the bald, middle-aged militia spoke loudly. "Yeah! What are we afraid of? If those kids can do it, so can we," said one of the village militia. "If we let the kids do them all, can we even be called a man?" said another one of the village militia.

"So what'd you say, lads? Are you with me?" asked the bald middle-aged militia.

"Ou!"

"Let's show these monsters what we, the people of Darug Vilalge, what we're capable of!" the bald middle-aged militia barked.

"Kill the son of bitches!" the village militia roared, and with that, their morale rose to an even greater height.

"Miss Stephanie," Elder Fa sat face to face with Stephanie in the dining room. "Elder Fa," Stephanie nodded slightly. "How have you been? I hope you are well," Stephanie said with a smile. "What do you think?" Elder Fa furrowed her eyebrows. "Haha, don't be angry, Elder Fa. I'm just speaking pleasantries," Stephanie chuckled. "Hmph, you never change, do you?" Elder Fa shook her head. "Nope. I am and will always be like this," Stephanie slightly puffed up her chest. Elder Fa sighed, "What we talked about before. Can it be done?" she asked. "Of course. After all, we had an agreement, right?" Stephanie replied with a smile.

"But," Elder Fa bit her lips, "That young woman….. She wasn't part of the plan," Elder Fa said. "No, she wasn't," Stephanie replied. "But she won't be a problem." Elder Fa frowned, "Are you sure?" she asked. Stephanie nodded, "Positive. I can guarantee you that," Stephanie said. Elder Fa stared into Stephanie's eyes for a while before letting out a long sigh, "Hah. Who would have thought that the famous 'Sword Maiden' would follow a bunch of kids to the countryside…. So troublesome." Stephanie lightly chuckled, "Haha, nothing we can do about that. There's no way I know that one of the kids in my class is an Arundel."

"On top of that, he's Stephanie's younger brother as well. That stinky old man…. Always keeping things to himself," Stephanie said. "I feel you. Gerard has been like that for a long time. You'll never know what he's thinking or what he's going to do next. I both love and hate that part of him," Elder Fa said. "Well, no use in crying over spilled milk. We'll just have to adjust our plan with the 'Sword Maiden' in mind," Elder Fa added. "Of course," Stephanie said. The two women stared at each other as their lips curled up at the same time.
