Chapter 77:Guidance from international masters

Actually, Li Weijie hesitated earlier not because of the judges beside him, as he had no concerns about them, but because the invitation came unexpectedly.

Why invite-only him and not others?

In that instant, he thought of the incident at the airport when asking for directions.

Although he didn't understand what Faleshini meant, he was certain it wasn't just related to his previous statement.

Faleshini's hospitality was evident as Li Weijie followed the translator, Yang Lin, and saw a luxurious extended car. Faleshini smiled at him through the lowered car window.

Sitting opposite Faleshini in the car alongside Yang Lin, Li Weijie noticed another person beside Faleshini.

The person was well-dressed with a big belly, probably representing Loki's interests in China, rather than a bodyguard.

Faleshini probably didn't consider himself prominent enough to require a bodyguard, or perhaps the local representative had arranged for a separate car with a bodyguard following behind.

Faleshini, a Frenchman in his forties, still had a scruffy beard, which gave him a slightly disheveled and artistic air.

Li Weijie knew he would eventually bring up the incident from that day, so it would be better for him to bring it up first!

With a smile on his face, Li Weijie spoke sincerely, "Mr. Faleshini, I'm really sorry. I actually don't understand French. That day at the airport, I was just guessing the meaning of your words. If I got it wrong that day, please forgive me."

"What? Which day?" Yang Lin, beside him, looked at Li Weijie and asked in a low voice, "Are you the person Mr. Faleshini met at the airport?"

Li Weijie nodded, guessing that he had mentioned it to him before.

Yang Lin quickly translated Li Weijie's words.

After listening, Faleshini was momentarily stunned. It was clear that he thought Li Weijie could understand but couldn't speak French. But then he burst into laughter and said, "It's alright, we can communicate through Yang. Regardless, I am still grateful for that day, and you didn't get it wrong."

Yang, referring to Yang Lin, was naturally the translator.

As the car started moving, with Yang Lin's translation or rather explanation, Li Weijie learned about Faleshini's situation that day.

It turned out that it was Yang Lin who went to pick him up, but after helping him with all his belongings, they got separated because Faleshini walked too quickly among the passengers. And he didn't have any means of communication on him; his phone was in his bag.

Unable to find Yang Lin, Faleshini, who was used to having an assistant handling everything, suddenly didn't know what to do.

He then realized that Yang Lin would probably go to get the car, so he casually walked to the parking lot.

After waiting for a while without seeing Yang Lin, he strolled to the bus area and saw the conspicuous Chinese and English spellings on the Four Seas Hotel shuttle. He vaguely remembered it looked somewhat like the hotel he was supposed to stay at, but he couldn't be sure.

So he wanted to find someone to ask and Li Weijie happened to be the one. Surprisingly, Faleshini's thoughts at that time were similar to what Li Weijie explained to Chu Ling'er!

He recognized that it wasn't a public bus but a hotel shuttle and thought if it was the hotel he was supposed to stay at, it would be best; if not, he would at least have a free ride and then contact Yang Lin later.

He wanted to check his inbox on the computer for Yang Lin's contact information, believing that any reputable hotel should meet such a small request.

And a hotel that set up a shuttle service at the airport was definitely a large, heavily booked hotel.

Fortunately, Yang Lin had arranged for someone to wait at the Four Seas Hotel that day, so Faleshini quickly entered the hotel and was promptly received by someone.

By the time Li Weijie and the other two entered the lobby, he had already gone upstairs.

The other person turned out to be the agent, who brought them to a VIP private room in a seafood restaurant for lunch.

"Li, I never expected you to be a hairstylist and at such a young age with a good understanding of hairdressing. You have a bright future!" Faleshini seemed very interested in hairdressing and didn't have much to say to the agent who accompanied them.

"I'm just an ordinary hairstylist. I didn't expect Mr. Faleshini to have such a good understanding of hairdressing," Li Weijie replied politely.

Although he was more skilled in hairstyling techniques than Faleshini, he believed there was a significant gap in their overall grasp and understanding of concepts.

After all, they were in different environments and exposed to different things.

Li Weijie had his limitations in his previous environment, despite his efforts.

Though he had now become a qualified hairstylist, Faleshini was on another level.

In his forties, he had become the chief designer of a world-renowned fashion brand, demonstrating his remarkable ability.

"No, no, you're being modest. I have more than ten years of experience on you, and throughout these years, I've interacted with the top figures in the fashion industry. But your current concepts are close to mine, so I think you're a talented and promising designer. I'm not being polite," Faleshini spoke earnestly.

"Although I haven't seen your works, most of the time, concepts come before techniques. I firmly believe in that."

A sudden realization struck Li Weijie.

Why be so courteous?

This was a rare opportunity to have a meal and chat with a renowned designer like Faleshini. He should seize the chance to learn more!

As Faleshini said, he had interacted with top figures in the fashion industry, and his perspective and concepts were precisely what Li Weijie needed to learn!

With this insight, Li Weijie became filled with confidence and courage. He took a deep breath and sincerely asked, "Mr. Faleshini, your designs have been interpreted by numerous top models and worn by numerous celebrities. Working with top hairstylists, what do you think it takes to become an international top hairstylist?"

Faleshini smiled slightly and pointed at Li Weijie.

"Let's first discuss your views on hairstyling."

Li Weijie collected his thoughts and said, "Because I really enjoy hairstyling design and consider it as art rather than just technique, I've been studying it for many years. I see hairstyling as a three-level realm, similar to an analogy in Zen Buddhism. Initially, you see the mountains as mountains and the water as water; later, you see the mountains not as mountains and the water not as water; finally, you see the mountains as mountains and the water as water again, but the realm has changed."

After carefully listening, Faleshini nodded and pondered for a moment before asking another question, "What do you think is the most important aspect of designing a hairstyle?"

Li Weijie hesitated for a moment, then answered, "Beauty."

"Do you mean your perception of beauty or the customer's perception of beauty?"

Faced with Faleshini's probing question, Li Weijie fell into silence. He questioned himself, for each hairstyle he designed, did he prioritize his own perception of beauty or the customer's? He had never really thought about this question.

This question only emerged after joining "The Aristocrat."

Previously, he would design models, so naturally, his satisfaction was the priority. Recalling his experience at "The Aristocrat," he unconsciously changed, focusing more on what the customer found beautiful, striving for mutual satisfaction.
