Chapter 52 : Alex's offer

'Wh-what is that?'

I blinked my eyes several times, just to make sure I didn't see anything wrong. I even rubbed my eyes too, but the image in front of me was still the same.

In front of me, there was a tall arched wooden door. However, the thing that got me rooted in my place wasn't the door itself, but the black substance leaking from the gap of the door. It was floating around like a black tentacle.

That thing was moving around like it had a life on its own. Thinking that it was just a curtain stuck in between the gap of the door would be delusional, right? Or considering that thing as a living thing was even more delusional?

"What's wrong?"

I turned my head towards the person beside me. Alex was currently looking at me with concern on his face. "Your face is pale, and you are shivering, too. Are you feeling cold?"

Since when did my hands tremble like this? I glanced back at the door, but to my surprise, that black substance was gone.
