"You finally called me. Do you know how much I missed you?" Carla whispered into the phone. There was a mixture of grievance and fondness in her voice.
From the other side of the phone came the voice of a young man. "I'm sorry, Carla. Things have been hectic these days, so I couldn't find the right time to contact you." The young man's tone was gentle and slow as if he was coaxing a little girl.
It was the voice that Carla liked so much. How long has it been since the last time they talked? Carla couldn't remember. Now that she heard her brother's voice, Carla got teary eyes. "I won't forgive you, so you better come back and cheer me up."
"Haha, sure. Next time."
Carla smiled bitterly. She knew her brother only saying that to make her less lonely. "Do you miss me?"
