Chapter CXX - Healing the Unhealable (part 2)

"Senior Lezlia... Can you please teach me how to tier up to King tier?"

Lezlia immediately snapped out of her sadness and stood up. She walked and sat down next to Kelmar, who was very annoyed by her sudden act.

"Easy. You just need to heal every single person while thinking of an evolution."

Thinking of an evolution?

"What... kind of evolution?"

"A King tier healing magic can do a lot of things that the lower tiers couldn't do. A King tier healing magic can break curses, regrow dead skin or meat, as well as a faster healing. As for creation, that's the job of the Emperor tier, which is considered godlike already.

So, while you are healing, think of how you can regrow a dead body part. And, it might force your ability to evolve."

"... A dead body part... What about a permanently charred... skin?"

"That… sounded like the perfect specific target you can heal with a King tier magic."

My heart throbbed in an instant.

Somehow, my expression turned blank immediately, and it confused both Kelmar and Lezlia. The sudden silence also made Megisca and Filma curious.

This should work. Right?

Maybe the meaning of regrowing a dead body part is like regenerating a dead cell. Or rather, healing them and returning them to life.

Then… this should work, right?

The charred skin is caused by the extreme heat of the flames burning my skin, and charring my skin to the point where it's like a stone. The stone part was caused by the sudden change to extreme heat and burning the skin into an actual coal, which was then frozen by the cold temperature of the ocean.

And this... 'coal', it can be healed. Right?

Let's just try it out.

I pulled my left gloves off and pulled the black sleeves away. Everyone was taken by a thunder when they saw the huge chunk of black charred skin on my entire left hand, but I didn't stop to let them ponder.

I quickly casted healing magic on my arm and bright golden bandages made out of magic quickly wrapped itself around my charred skin. While in my mind, I constantly thought about evolving and closed my eyes.

Evolve... What does it mean to evolve?

To change into something more powerful, something that can withstand any obstacles... to survive.

That's right. Evolution means... survival.

It's time to evolve, asshole.

The bandages started to glow in a different light. It's glowing blue instead of gold now.

If a bandage doesn't heal a wound, then the other choice is to just wash it with water. At least… that's how normal wounds work.

The bandages slowly turned fluid, and it envelops my entire arm in blue light. The water formed healing magic is now slowly healing my charred skin. I can see the black charred skins getting lifted from the arm and dissipating on the fluid healing magic.

"It's... It's healing..."

Lezlia mutters as she watches my hand slowly heals itself.

The coal skin slowly gets pulled away from the arm and turns into nothingness as the skin below it starts to regrow. The color of my skin slowly forming at the places where the black skin used to reside. And after thirty seconds, all the coal has been lifted, and my arm is fully healed.

I turned off the healing magic and lifted my left hand to study it. I turned it around left and right, and it's completely healed without a single scar.

"It's normal... I did it..."

I mumbled blankly, and immediately turned to my other hand.

I quickly took off my right gloves and arm sleeves, as well as my shoes and pulled away my long socks. Now, all my charred skin is showing, and I feel no shame about it.

Everyone else can only watch in silence as I slowly healed my wounds, starting from my right arm.

Now that my right arm is healed, I can focus on healing using both arms. Hence, the process of healing on both of my feet is a lot faster than the arms. After a few minutes, all the charred skin has healed.

How long was it? A month? Maybe more?

And now… I finally was able to heal it.

"Ha... Haha."

I slowly laughed as I wiped away the tears from my eyes. Wow, why am I crying? My, my… I'm such a cry baby.

My eyes are still studying the pure softness of my new skin, that I didn't realize everyone else was also crying.

"I-I'm sorry... Was that too emotional…?"

.

I got my charred skin healed up.

I have obtained King tier healing magic.

I healed eighteen patients in the club room. Nineteen, if you count Lezlia's intentional crash to the floor.

Coming here… was definitely worth it.

I quickly bowed my head at Lezlia and Kelmar, who sat on the other side of the sofa.

"T-Thank you very much!"

I have never been this grateful before. I never did.

Kelmar and Lezlia can only chuckle when I thanked them. Megisca then moved next to me and hugged me.

Aww... I'm in dire need of a hug right now.

"Come back any time, Rize. There will always be injured students who need your healing magic."

Lezlia said as we spoke on the door. I already bade farewell with everyone and decided to return to my dorm.

It's already ten, and I believe my business here is done for today. So, Lezlia walked me to the door.

"Will do. Thank you so much."

"No. Thank you. Healing eighteen patients can take us the whole day, and you did it in less than five minutes."

We both chuckled at that, but then her expression turned serious.

"Do note, Rize. The higher the tier, the higher the consumption. It may seem normal to you, but if you weren't careful, you could be getting tired."

"Thank you for the advice. I will surely watch my use of this magic."

I bowed to her before leaving and headed to the stairs. She turned around and closed the door.

While leaving the club building, I felt slightly heavy on my body. Why do I feel weak so suddenly?

I immediately suspected something, so I took out my magic energy counting tool and checked. Just as I thought.

It was down by more than a quarter.

King tier healing magic, huh…? That surely took a ton. It took way more than I imagined, and I already imagined quite a ton...

And… Did I really just rack up two thousand in a week?

I did use magic the whole time I'm here. I guess being in the magic academy is a good thing for my magic points after all.

I wonder how it will be after a year... Or maybe when I graduate in three years…

I would be… insanely powerful.

A level up, a much needed one. Now, one step closer to the goal of obtaining the Emperor tier healing magic.

We've finally arrived at the half mark for the fourth season! The first half of a season is always the most boring part. Especially this season, where there's just so much things to introduce.

Now, it's time for the good stuff.

A one month time jump will occur on the next chapter. A necessary skip to trim out unimportant segments, and we'll be skipping straight to the fire moments.

Let's head on straight to the second half, where all the juicy stuff is at.
