Into that dungeon

Chapter 2

Bang! bang! bang!

"Huh? Oh.. The alarm huh.."

Yes yes ill be right there... I get up and walks to the door while rubbing my eye clearing sticky substances left due to tears dried up on my sleep.

I am yawning as i open the door.

As usual, i see a serious mature girl in front of my door. This always happens every morning that it becomes my alarm clock.

Being used to this, i possibly already know what she come for.

She enters my apartment, look for food, prepares it, and put it on my table.

"Let us eat.." She says waiting for me.

I wonder if shes doing this to help me prepare my food or she is only sharing with my food supply.

I mean they really are poor on money and such so i visit there oftenly to help. But she only visit here every morning so i doubt she is here for food. As i usually know, probably she is here again to...

"So.. Are you going with me to the dungeon? We might earned lots of money today!!"

As i thought... She never comes here without invitation. She always invite me but i always turned her down. After all, what am i going to do inside the dungeon? Well, to help peoples like her is not so bad but i avoid seeing lonely place or depressing atmosphere which is rich in the dungeon. That place is a damned one! How is that even here on earth? A place where monsters infinitely respawn? Anyway i wont be going there.. Is what i want to say but..

"Sure! Lets go! Ill shower you with drop items containing really high rewards!"

"I see... Well then be careful out there. I will try my best on the dungeon, lets give it our all!"

She gives a thumbs up with a sad smiling face..

"Huh?.." I had an astonished face but a one that is ready to laugh.

She finished her food and thanks for it when she finally notice that my answer agrees.

"Huh?" - we look at each other-

She reacts thinking she misheard me, smiling though, hoping she heards right.

"Oh really? What happened?"

She still can't believe that i agree. Well, i need money for my upcoming journey so...

"Ah, yeah i need money so..."

I answer to explain but it seems she doesn't need it anymore.

"Yes!! Finally i can go with you to the dungeon!"

She looks very happy that it makes me feels like i am wrong and a bad person. To think i let her wait turning her down everyday when she is this happy to go with me. I hope she forgives me, sigh.

We then prepared our equipment for the adventuring and here we are...

A futuristic place full of different equipments that is use to fight monsters!!

"Well, we are here! Are you ready? "

I looked at her and whoah... I see a really different person from just before we leave the town. So this is how she looks like when she gets serious, standing straight causing her muscles all over the body to gets active. The looks in her eye indicates one shot one kill if possible. Though something bothers me... Her equipments, where is her equipments?

"Uhm..."

I need to ask her, she probably forgot because of excitement

"Hmm? Yes? "

She replied feeling nothing is strange

I sigh as i ask

"You dont forgot something? Just like equipment or such?"

She look at me astound and reply

"How would i get equipment if i got no money?"

"Oh! You've got a point.. I mean no! How do you fight if you got no equipments?"

"Oh... I see, concerned about me huh..? Dont worry..."

She hit her palm with her fist and said...

"This fist will do"

I look at her amazed

"Huh.... Well then, lets go!!"

"Yeah!!"

Upon entering the dungeon i already lost interest.

"sigh..."

Boredom is visibly on my face when i let out a breath.

"I will finish this really fast..."

"I dont think so" - Sei answers-

"Huh?"

Oh, did i get heard? Well i cant hold that words in my mind for i really mean it!...staying in this place makes my blood boils. No fresh air, no relaxing views and no interesting things to talk with my companion. This will only reminds me of the past... Sigh...

"Uhm.. You really like going here huh? Why invite me though? There are plenty of adventurers around there, right? "

I started a conversation to interrupt my mind from thinking the past...i always do this... That is why i stay in town where a lot of people are available to talk with.. I wonder how could i free myself from this..

As i am busy thinking while waiting for Sei's answer (the girl i am accompanied with by the way) a very fast approach is heading on my way, in my head or neck... Tsk... I draw out my sword very fast i dont even give time for my head to turn around and look at the attacker.

-in a front view covering the area where me, sei, and the attacker are seen, a line has been visible due to the after image the attacker left out after moving very fast.-

Then, kaboogsh!!! Smoke spread out all over the place.

"Azroth!"

Not seeing anything but smoke and sharp claws stuck on my sword, i heard Sei's voice calling me.. I am about to say i am alright when the smoke clears away along with the beast followed by a really strong pressure..

And then i see sei standing in front of me..

Whoah.. All i see is sei kicking the beast in front of me...as if the whole scene glitches and stop to that view then continues very fast!!

The whole area trembles as the surface falls some of its broken parts to the ground due to the impact.

I see... So you really fight weaponless huh?

I look at her very happy

What are you doing?

She ask me very seriously with a tone indicating, what are you thinking walking so carefree..

"Uhm.." I tried to answer happily

"This is not the outside world Azroths!!"

"The very time you enter the dungeon is the time you activate your guard and senses!!"

"I had block it though" - I answered with a happy face -

"I keep inviting you here because of your skill but...it seems like you dont mind the trouble around here at all"

She looks towards a path leading deeper to the dungeon...

"let's go"

"Ah.. Yeah...." - I answered slowly with an astound face -

I see... I had not even notice we are already attacked while i am busy thinking...no wonder she did not answer me lately... She's been fighting already while i am not paying attention...(chuckles)

-i look at her-

Aww... She might be very upset on me now, sigh..

- i look down as i sigh -

Ok... I think i shall show her what she expects from me..

Shing... Bang... Pogsh... Bagsh... Growl... Whoosh... Roar... Tsiw...

"Huh?...." i look towards our path as i heard noises both from sword slashing, rocks crumbling, and to different voices of people fighting monsters.

Finally we reached the dead end of this floor for the next footing visible is around 30 meters below from where we stand.

Walking straight to the edge, i look downward from above to know what is happening. As the scenery scrolls down, i see little to numerous of adventurers fighting with monsters!.

No wonder i hear sounds that are really loud...

Considering their numbers, it is even enough to shake the whole place...

"Are we going to help them?"

I ask Sei for guidance...

"No... We are going deeper, let these people fight here so they can buy powerful equipments through the rewards for drop items."

"Is it not dangerous to go lower levels? We might encounter dangerously strong monsters..."

"What? You're finally worried? Its okay.. even i can handle the monsters around here."

"Huh..... Okay..." - i look at her raising my eyebrow and think to myself... Im only worried about you though. -

While walking around the place heading deeper, we feel an unordinary silence in our surroundings... No... It has been too quiet ever since we pass through the crowds lately.

"Hmm, what could be the happenings here?"

Sei stops walking and put her hand on her hip while the other hand on her chin examining the situation.

I also look around to see what is wrong and...

Bwaaah... I had been hit by a giant axe which causes me to fly to the dungeon walls.. Aarghh... I spit blood..

What was that? That was so fast i cant even rea... The lights over my sight fades away as the attacker stood in front of me covering me with its gigantic body's shadow, whilst its axe whooshing towards me...

"This is happening so fast... Well then, i shall take you on!!!"

I activate my weapon causes it to emit a light that brightens the whole area.... I can still hear the axe whooshing to me really fast....

" Tsk, you really are fast huh?..

Well then, let us see how faster you are than light..!! "

The moment i move, overwhelming speed has causes everything to stop and destroy the attacker in an instant without a trace.

Yeah.. the immense force stocked on my light sword burns everything it hits till it vanishes to nothing.

" Azroths, lets get out of here!! Hurry!!"

Sei grab my hand and runs really fast...

"What are you doing? what is wrong?" - i ask surprised to her sudden reaction -

Upon asking i heard a very horrifying scream.

-the surrounding shook and a penetrating soundwave jiggles our image and the whole view-

"What the..."

though trembling, I look back to see what could it be..

Sei grab my sword on my hand and activates it...

As i look deeper to that creatures figure... It disappears!

A claw appears on front of me wounding my chest even though it hadn't reach me.... Or no..what i see is probably only a mere afterimage, its claws is already piercing on me unnoticed due to its speed. This monster will definitely cut through us!!...

As i fear the upcoming result, light has engulf us and drag us off from the dungeon. Luckily high-speed travel save our lives! We travel very fast that it makes the surroundings looks like a colorful lines accelerating very fast!!...

We have been out from the dungeon in no time and stop at the mountain nearby..

finally we feel relief when we had our distance.

Pant....pant....we breath hard due to that heart-stopping incident.

That dungeon, really, what in the world is that? How is that even here? That never cease to astonish me..

I wonder why people keep going back... Into that dungeon...
