After taking a bath I was given comfortable clothes to wear that he had someone buy for me. There were jeans and beautiful shirts for me to wear in the coming days too. There was even a white dress that I'd wear at our wedding in Vegas. The dress was simple with gorgeous cut outs. I think it beats my wedding dress for sure.
It seemed like Nick was five steps ahead of me which made me realize he must have planned to stop my wedding for some time now. He had said the biggest lies with an innocent look on his face and even faked a couple of tears.
"So what do you want to eat?" Nick walks out of the bathroom with a towel on his head drying his hair.
"Anything will do." I said honestly not caring what I ate.
He hums in response before walking over to the phone. "Wait. Are you allergic to anything?"
"I'm lactose intolerant and I'm allergic to bananas."
"Okay. Noted." He talks to the staff over the phone ordering us food. I sat on the couch waiting for him to finish so I can ask him more questions. If I was going to marry him I should have a little control over the situation unlike with Micheal where I had no say.
"I ordered us some stake and wine, I hope you don't mind." He says approaching the couch.
"As I said. Anything will do."
Nick sits on the couch leaving enough space between the both of us. "Well...I'm guessing you want to talk about our situation in detail."
I nod feeling glad he brought it up. "I want to know what exactly you're planning on doing and for how long you expect us to stay married for."
He looks at me nodding as he listens to me which made me feel good. I continued, "I want to know the terms and conditions of our marriage and what I'm expected to do as your wife."
Nick gets up to get our food as there's a knock on our door. "How about I tell you every thing over dinner?"
"Okay."
The staff set up everything in our room to make it look romantic. I waited patiently on the couch for them to finish. Nick spoke kindly to them and even thanked them after everything was done.
"Shall we eat?" He held out his hand which I accepted. We walk to the table where he pulls my chair for me. I thank him before sitting down.
"This looks delicious don't you think? Do you want red or white wine?" He asked with a smile.
"Red...thank you."
He pours for me before doing the same for himself. "Well shall we start with the basics?"
"Basics?" I ask unsure of what he was talking about.
"I'm Nicolas Sakurada, My family members call me Kento but my friends call me Nick . My grandfather is the chairman of Sakurada incorporated and my dad was his eldest son."
"Was..."
"He died when I was a kid. My mom raised me in the states, Seattle, because of my uncle and his late wife kicking her out when my mom was pregnant. Luckily grandpa looked for us and I've been training to take over since I was 18."
It seems he has a grudge against Michael which could explain him ruining the wedding.
"I see. So Michael wants the position for himself?"
"Yes. He'll stop at nothing to become the chairman. Even make other company's go bankrupt so they fall under his control."
"Okay but why do you have to marry me?" I ask hesitantly.
"Your company is the largest pharmaceutical company in north America. Marrying you would give me power in the pharmaceutical industry of the US. Uncle probably wanted to take over the whole business by marrying you."
"Dad was super careful I don't get how we ended in such a situation."
"Uncle gained his trust so it was easy..."
I sigh heavily before jugging down my wine. "So...what are our rules?"
He grins. "You can come up with some rules too."
"Okay. 1. No sleeping together...like sexually." My own words leave me blushing.
"I see. Okay then. I'll come up with the second one."
I nod for him to continue.
"Rule 2. You can't be publicly seen with anyone else."
We both continue saying rules until we have eight rules.
1. No sexual intercourse
2. You may date but you can't be publicly seen with your partner.
3. We must be honest to each other. No secrets.
4. We must respect each others boundaries.
5. We must support each other in front of everyone else no matter what.
6. We must go to important events together all the time.
7. We must always share a bedroom. (His rule not mine!)
And finally the last rule is if one of us has had enough we should ask for a divorce and the other person must grant the divorce no questions asked. This rule is only valid after we've been married for at least a year and a half.
"Cheers to those amazing rules." A slightly drunk Nick says.
"Cheers!" I say smiling. I was drunk at this point since we drank about four bottles of wine. "So Nick. Do you have a girlfriend?"
Nick nods starring at the ground. For the first time he looked sad.
"I had to break up with her. I used to hurt her...she doesn't deserve someone like me."
He smiles through his pain before looking up at me. "Do you have someone? Or is it only my uncle?"
I took another gulp of my wine before smiling at him, The person I love was abandoned by me when he needed me the most but of course I couldn't tell him that so I said "No. I only have you."
He laughs. "That's great." Nick gets up stumbling around abit. "Do you want to look at the city lights with me?"
I get up also struggling to maintain my balance. "Let's go!"
I follow him out to the balcony where we could see the gorgeous views. It's nice and cool outside so I walk closer to the edge to look down below.
"I didn't think today would end like this...I thought I'd be in a room crying myself to sleep in preparation for doing so for as long as I would have to be Micheal's wife."
Nick looks at me sympathetically. I smile at him before I continued. "Actually I'm really thankful. You saved me."
"I don't know if I saved you or just dragged you to hell with me." He says seriously.
Something told me Nick was warning me about what would happen next and that nothing would be simple moving forward.
I don't know what trouble awaits but if it's to keep my loved ones safe I'll do anything, and if Nick is the one I need to be cautious of I'll be ready to take him on.
