Chapter 16: Search!

Chapter 16: Search!

Aura state allowed the Knights to cover their weapons with energy, so there was a white glow with a black hue around Vilho's sword, while there was a red glow around Anton's sword.

With a fierce roar, Vilho charged forward, matching Anton's charge. As their swords clashed, the sound of clash rang throughout the area.

The two friends traded one blow after another. Vilho being the chief guard had more experience when it came to fighting, but Anton didn't become the King only due to him being born in the royal family.

Anton was a talented swordsman, and it showed on the battlefield. As the fight raged on, Anton started to gain the upper hand. The red glow around the sword began to intensify, and every slash released by him was to kill.

Vilho struggled to keep up in the face of the continuous onslaught. The white and black hue glow around his sword began to dim. But since Vilho had lost his sanity, there was no question of giving up.

Suddenly, a surge of Prana occurred as Vilho began to intentionally absorb it from the air, increasing the absorption rate at a dangerous rate. His Aura state was surging back to life, and the glow around the sword was intensifying.

Unfortunately for Vilho, he wasn't sane enough to notice the dangerous absorption of Prana's effect on his body. Even though the glow around the sword was intensifying, Vilho's body was starting to break down.

Anton suddenly sensed a danger to his life. He immediately moved out of the way, pushing as much strength as he could on his legs.

The next moment, his entire back had turned wet with sweat, as where he was a moment ago, there was a wide pit.

The glow around Vilho's sword had dimmed, but suddenly, the same surge of Prana occurred. Anton understood that he couldn't let this situation continue.

Vilho had no scope of survival left anymore, and it was better for him to kill Vilho first before he killed him due to his insane absorption.

Anton suddenly stood straight, and the surge of Prana occurred around him. Anton wasn't intentionally absorbing Prana from the air, but he was forcing the Prana energy shield around him to the glow around the sword.

The next moment, the red glow around the sword took the form of a blade itself and Anton slashed.

The next moment, the red glow around his sword dimmed, while a red wave appeared and charged toward Vilho, who had his eyes red while absorbing the Prana.

The next moment, the red glow passed through Vilho, and what was left of him was his body cut into a symmetrical half.

Anton immediately deactivated the Aura state since he had no idea what was waiting for him; the battle had only begun.

Anton sheathed his sword and left the area after taking a quick glance at the now-split Vilho's corpse.

Not long after Anton left, a hooded figure appeared on the scene. The figure took his head off, and he was none other than Gray Turing. He licked his lips when he saw the corpse on the ground.

The next moment, he took a vial and syringe out of his pocket and left after taking a vial full of blood from Vilho's corpse.

He then turned in the direction where Anton left, and a sly grin spread across his face.

Gray then stored the vial full of blood in his pocket where there were already three more vials filled with the blood of different Great Knights.

Gray had another purpose for coming back to the Knight Continent; he didn't care about the Turing Empire or its expansion. Even the knights of the Turing Empire were his targets, but he was just waiting for the right time.

Gray then covered his face and disappeared from the area.

After killing Vilho, Anton left to search for the hooded figure since that person was the cause of everything.

During his search for the person, Anton came across distressing scenes of torture, rape, brutal murders, and many other deeds by either the citizens or the guards.

The guards doing it were due to that hooded figure since when he appeared in the palace, he released a powder that turned anyone who came into contact with it into an insane person.

Anton felt sickened by the deeds, but what sickened him more were the citizens. There were some citizens who had also gone berserk since the hooded figure didn't release the mysterious powder only at one spot.

But the majority of the citizens committing evil deeds did so out of their own volition and knew what they were doing. Whenever Anton came across any citizen or guard that understood what they were doing, he left them on the verge of death, with them wishing for death. While for the citizens and guards that committed the deeds due to that mysterious powder, Anton gave them an instant and peaceful death.

Anton's search finally bore fruit, and he finally found the hooded figure. To be precise, it was the hooded figure that sought Anton.

"It's time for you to meet your family," The hooded figure laughed while throwing a head toward Anton.

Anton reflexively dodged it, and when he looked at what it was, his eyes trembled violently. A wave of uncontrollable rage passed through every corner of his body.

Anton didn't control himself that time and charged at the hooded figure, activating the Aura state.

Gray smiled behind the hood, seeing Anton charging at him. He raised his right hand, and the next moment, a fireball appeared.

Gray threw the fireball at Anton. Anton was filled with rage but was still sane, so he dodged however much he could and slashed at Gray.

The fireball scalded his right shoulder, with his bones becoming visible while Gray moved back, dodging the slash.

Anton gritted his teeth, trying to handle the pain, but suddenly he saw a terrible scene of several people charging toward him with blood-like red eyes.
