Chapter 24: The War Begins!

Time was like a stream that kept flowing, and one month had passed since Ryan and Hillary got married.

The war on the Geratin Empire was announced by the Turing Empire a month ago. Things had been calm compared to the shocking announcement, but today was bound to be different.

"Will you also be going?" Hillary asked Ryan with tension spread across her face.

The previous day, there was an order from the Empire asking for every Kingdom to send ten thousand men, a hundred Knights, and one Great Knight to support the Empire's army.

In the past month, Ryan and Hillary had gotten closer to each other since living together made them stay around each other. They still had yet to consummate the marriage, but Hillary was no longer shy around Ryan.

"Yes, I have to go," Ryan nodded. He had yet to tell Hillary about his illness and the Gestrid family's plans for him.

"Why do you have to go? You are going to be the crown prince; Father will surely not send you," Hillary complained since she didn't want Ryan to go.

"It's of my own volition that I am going," Ryan answered with a smile upon seeing the tension on his wife's face.

"Why do you want to go? We have just gotten married."

"I want you to trust me, I will return to you," Ryan grabbed Hillary's hands and promised to her. He could understand what was going through Hillary's mind. Whether it was love or kindness, he didn't care.

Hillary fell silent when she looked into Ryan's eyes. She could feel Ryan's determination through them. She wanted to say something, but suddenly she found herself unable to, as Ryan had thrown himself at her.

It was her first kiss, and soon she found herself enjoying it. Suddenly, Ryan moved away.

"Wait for me, then we will do the next steps," Ryan said with a wink, and then left the room.

Hillary was too frozen to even think of chasing Ryan. When she came around, she found that Ryan had already left the room.

"These will be the men going with you," Henry told Ryan. He was not happy with Ryan's decision to join the war and instead wanted to send Victor. Victor also agreed with Henry, but Ryan was too adamant to listen to either of them.

Using the virus and the conspiracy of the Gestrid family as his reasoning, he forced Henry and Victor to send him to the war.

There was also the fact that Ryan could be sent as Knight and Victor could be sent as Great Knight, but Ryan's breakthrough had stabilized, so it was impossible to hide the power level from others. And since other Great Knights would also be present there, it might make Ryan the target, defeating the purpose in the first place.

After hearing his father's voice, Ryan turned around and saw the people. Since Ryan was leading the group, Henry didn't act cheaply and armored the men with a good set of armor and a sword.

Carlos was the deputy leader of the soldiers, so he addressed them.

"Attention, soldiers! Gather in formation and greet the commander!"

Since it was a war group, Ryan was no longer the prince but the commander.

The soldiers were battle-hardened due to the constant skirmishes between the Great Eagle Kingdom and the Vechnos Kingdom. It didn't take long for them to gather in formation.

"GREETINGS, COMMANDER!"

The next moment, their chants shook the entire ground. Ryan nodded and stepped forward, stepping up to the platform prepared for him.

"Greetings, Soldiers! Today, I stand before you with immense pride and gratitude. Each one of you is an integral part of this mighty unit, and I commend you for your unwavering service."

"We are going to join other Kingdoms for the Turing Empire. I want only one thing from you, the flag of the Vechnos Kingdom should stand at the top."

"This is not only a war of pride but also survival. With every fiber of our being, we give our all, confident that victory will be ours!"

"MAY THE GOLDEN LION KEEP ROARING!" Ryan roared, raising his sword in the air.

"MAY THE GOLDEN LION KEEP ROARING!"

"Louder, let the echoes of our war chant resonate throughout the land!" Ryan roared.

"MAY THE GOLDEN LION KEEP ROARING!"

"MAY THE GOLDEN LION KEEP ROARING!"

"MAY THE GOLDEN LION KEEP ROARING!"

The next moment, a chant loud enough to shake the platform rang, making Ryan smile.

Ryan seemed to sense someone's stare, so he turned to his left and saw Hillary and Loraine. He nodded toward them with a wide smile and then stepped down the platform.

His horse had already been prepared, so he climbed it and soon the journey to the Turing Empire began.

It was a long journey, but Ryan had plans to meet the army of the Great Eagle Kingdom before that, so his destination was there.

While Ryan was marching with the army of ten thousand strong men, the war had begun between the Turing and Geratin Empires.

The Turings seemed to be at the lower side of the battle for now as the Geratin Empire were the defenders, and it was certainly easy than attacking a new territory.

The war was going on with full fervor as both armies matched. The enthusiasm of the Turing Empire's soldiers was at all-time high for some reason despite so many losses, while the morale of the soldiers of the Geratin Empire's soldiers was high due to their continuous victories.

One such battlefield between the two Empires was the Ustan Kingdom's border. The Kingdom had already been taken over by the army of the Geratin Empire since the Emperor wanted to end the battle right at the Kingdom's border.

Puchi!

The spear pierced through one of the soldiers' hearts, ending his life.

Puchi!

Before the man could even take out his spear to target another soldier, he found his world had turned upside down. Only later, when he saw his headless body, did he know that he had died.
