“I just got word that Amun is on the move,” Queen Sada said, joining Emilia and Tommy by the jade fountain.
The artist had his pant legs rolled up, feet dangling in the water.
Emilia’s clothes lay in a pile beside the fountain as she swam through the clear, glittering water.
“On the move where?” she asked. She glanced at Tommy.
His carotid artery jumped, and Emilia could see the blood – glowing red and bioluminescent under his skin.
Remarkably, he kept his cool, even if he was jittery on the inside.
“He’s returned to the estate in Norway,” Sada said. She kicked her sandals off and stood in the shallow water of the fountain.
Emilia slowly swam back and forth from one side of the fountain to the other. She stopped near Tommy’s legs and held onto the closest jade sculpture.
“Why would he…” Emilia sniffed and shook her head.
“Hotaru’s intelligence says he is amassing his army,” Sada said.
