Chapter 12
Twenty minutes later he was getting out in front of a tall, fairly modern apartment building, at what appeared to be the edge of the downtown area. The Marshal driving the cab assured him it was safe to go from there into the building, so he did, hurrying up the short flight of steps to the front door. He sighed with relief when one of the keys he had opened it, letting him into a large, well-lit lobby. The elevators were straight ahead of him and he rode one up to the sixth floor.
It took him a moment to figure out which way to go when he got off, but when he had, he walked swiftly down the hall to the end and let himself into his new home.
