"Loyalty to the country always. Loyalty to the government when it deserves it" MARK TWAIN
WARNING chapter contains vivid scene of torture
The blood on my tongue felt warm, my heart was beating fast, yet I showed no fear as I stared at the tall Taliban man who had a gun to my forehead.
"Your name is Olivia correct?" He asked in a thick Arabian accent
"Go to hell" I replied and spat on him
I quickly regretted doing that because the tall man turned to his colleagues and an unbearable yet familiar pain shot through my body from the cuffs that were used to bind me to a well wired metal chair.
"I must admit Miss Olivia you are quite an interesting person" the tall man sneered when my screaming had died down "even after receiving our.... hospitality for two years you have simply refused to give anything. Why? Is it because you believe in your cursed country? Is it because you believe in your corrupt leaders? Why would a mere woman hold on longer than most soldiers?"
Even though I could h ear the genuine pity and admiration in his voice, I recognized the sentimental question for what it truly was.
It was a bait intended get me to start talking and hopefully let my guard down, but if these people thought such a cheap trick would work on me then they had no idea who they were dealing with.
Time for a little reminder
I whispered some nonsense so that the man would get closer and when he did, I grabbed his left ear with my teeth and refused to let go.
It took a lot of brass knuckled punches to tear me off and when they succeeded, I spat out my broken teeth and the man's disgusting ear from my mouth.
"Since this is how you want it"
the man nodded to his colleagues in anger and the white hot pain ran through my body for a very long time.
When it finally stopped, he walked up to me and gently raised my head which was bent over in exhaustion, to look into his dark unyielding eyes.
"No one is coming for you." He said " no one will save you, can't you just give up and die?"
"You're gonna have to do better son" I said in a voice bearly above a whisper "I'm getting used to the electricity"
The tall man laughed loudly at my words
"Is that so?" He asked then he signalled his two colleagues "then let us show you how creative our punishment can be"
Two of them started tying more ropes to my body while the tall man approached with a pail of water and a rag.
Honestly, even though I knew what they were about to do to me I was more concerned about them wasting extra rope as I could not fight back even if I wanted to.
The two men held my chair steady while the tall man placed the rag over my face and poured water on it.
To say the pain was excruciating would be an understatement and I struggled hard to breathe as the water forcefully invaded my throat and lungs.
By the time he was done,I was almost coughing out my lungs
"Now tell me where the drones are lead engineer" the tall man yelled in a voice full of anger
"Unfortunately sir that's classified " I replied in a voice dripping with sarcasm
This angered them so much that they repeated the water boarding again and again and again.
By the time they had done it the fiftyth time (or sixty I wasn't really counting) they grew frustrated and decided to stop
"Do you think you will survive this? Do you think you will win?" He asked in frustration "you have been here for two years Miss Olivia, don't you know when to give up? Don't you know when to yield?"
I stared into his eyes and said with all the courage I could muster
"In this life or next I will never yeild"
He then pulled out a gun from his holster and pointed it at me
"Very well" he cried and I felt something small strike against my forehead.
I did not even hear the boom of the gun before my eyes closed forever
