Unbound Familiar

An avid gamer nerd's dreams come true in another brutal yet lucky? fashion. Follow him as he does his best not to die in laughably humiliating ways, all while trying to escape his abrupt and unwanted servitude. Will his knowledge of the world he finds himself help him succeed? Will he return home? Will evolve past his title of 'Dog'? Read and find out! This will be another multiversal world-hopping story, similar to my other one, EBW. I'll not spoil the surprise of the first world, but Skyrim will eventually be involved... And no, I'll not be adhering to plot, instead destroying it and hopefully not butchering the original story in the process. Rescue...s

The Thalmor Embassy, the big ass villa situated atop a mountain West of Solitude which was filled to the brim with ass holes, scum, criminals, and the origin of so many war crimes that naming them would turn your soul black... At least, that's how Michael felt about the place.

He'd followed the scent of blood all the way here while tracking Umnii... Once he'd passed Morthal he wasn't at all surprised that this was the location where she was being held. Without Northwatch Keep to imprison dissenters, the Thalmor were forced to use their own turf.

Worst of all, it was technically legal for them to do so... The Embassy was Aldermeri Dominion territory, so the elves had free reign to do as they wished within its borders... Of course, kidnapping innocent civilians could prove an obstacle to this, but since the Imperials were fighting against the Stormcloak, they couldn't be fucked to actually do their jobs and enforce the law.

With all the feasts and parties thrown by the Thalmor Ambassador Elenwen, he was pretty certain that most Solitude nobles knew what was going on here... It's just that no one dared to do anything about it.

Fortunately, Nords had begun taking a stance against this... Once news of the invasion of Winterhold had made the rounds, along with the appearance of the Thalmor navy, Jarl Igmund of Markarth made the decision to become neutral in this war.

Michael could have had him join the Stormcloaks with the favours the man owed him, but he'd rather not become 'active'... While he was a threat to the Imperials and Thalmor, right now they were more interested in his property than his personal abilities and political pull.

Regardless, he may have to take a stance if his attempts at sneaking into the embassy today failed. He was pretty confident in himself, but who knew what tricks the Thalmor had set up.

Before that though, he checks his status for the Nth time after the battle, nodding to himself at his progress.

Mortal Souls : 127 > 432

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He'd collected quite a lot of souls from the battle, but he'd decided not to subsume them all yet. To be honest, he just wanted to know what a thousand soul count Requiem of Souls would look like... Would it be a nuclear blast of darkness or some shit?... What would happen if he powered it with a dragon soul?

These questions could be answered when he found an adequate target.

Additionally, his levelling progress was annoying low... Would he need to go farming in another world to progress at an acceptable pace every time? He'd fought against an army and only gained five levels... Even if he'd personally slaughtered them all instead of allowing his laser to do it he still wouldn't have Maxed his Shadow Fiend out.

Whatever. Now that Winterhold was protected by his weapon of mass destruction, even the dragons wouldn't dare get too close. He'd look into hopping worlds once he got Umnii back and got his prisoner Keo properly talking.

Employing all of his stealth abilities made sneaking into the Embassy fairly easy. Unlike the game, it was far more heavily guarded than shown... Though, this was probably due to all the trouble he'd caused the Thalmor... Would this affect the Dragonborn? Probably?... He couldn't really find the effort to care though.

"What do you think of the prisoner they brought in?"

"The blue one? Freakish. Should just wipe them all out if you ask me, Daedra Spawn is what they are."

"Hmm... I don't know, think Captain would notice if I snuck into the prisoner's cell for a bit?"

The Thalmor huffs, "Yes... I doubt even you'd want a go with the prisoner now though. I could hear her screams even from the locked basement..."

"Ah, you know me... Any hole is an adequate goal, so long as they left her alive I'd be fine... Eve then..."

"You're sick you know that Akeid? H-Have you been on that beast-shit Skooma again!?"

"Hey, don't knock it til you-" the Altmer is cut off as Michael makes his move, slitting both of their throats and stealing the keychain from the one not addicted to Skooma. He probably didn't need to kill them but, if given the choice not to? Well, this was the result.

Moving on, he quickly makes it to the basement where the prisoners were being held, spotting Umnii strapped to a heavy oak table in the centre with a pale Altmer standing over her with a cleaver in hand and other butchery equipment at the side.

"S-s-s-stop... Please..." Umnii pitifully utters, no physical injuries aside from her severed neck tendrils that her torturer was eying curiously.

"Tell me, creature. What function do these... Things, serve?" he asks but Umnii just pitifully whimpers in response.

...

"You will answer my question, or I'll hack off that disgusting tail of yours as well."

"... T-they, help me sense... Things..."

The Altmer raises his cleaver, "Things? Specify, if you would." he grouses.

"M-agic... They help us sense magic..."

"Aha? Do they now? Fascinating... Perhaps I should have left them on for further testing?... Oh well, I'm sure I'll have more test subjects in future."

"Yeah... I don't think so." Michael drawls from the balcony above the room.

"W-who!?" the Altmer exclaims as he spots Michael, gripping his cleaver tightly.

"M-Michael..." Umnii mutters while breathing out a sigh of relief, as if all her problems had just faded away at his presence.

"Sorry I didn't get here fast enough, Umnii. How about we make this guy pay tenfold for what he's done/"

She gives a weak nod from the table, her eyes turning to glare at the Altmer as he shrivels in the face of an actual threat.

"M-Michael Tahlin...? T-take her! I don't even want her anymore! You have my full permission, I swear!"

Michael nods, hopping down to the floor and walking over to him, "Your permission? Wow, what an honour." he says before grabbing his neck and throwing him onto the nearby dissection table, strapping him in tightly as the man had done to Umnii.

"Alright Umnii, since he cut off something of yours, what should we cut from him?" he asks while carefully helping the Eredar girl up.

At his question, her face morphs from despairing into one of agonizing over thoughts of sadistic revenge. "I-... I can think of something-... Somethings." she says while grabbing a short scalpel-like blade.
