After discovering the young man's identity, Han Woon-Sook flashed a slight smile.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Suzuki. I still can't believe that such a young man built KiShin into a significant business," Han Woon-Sook remarked, glancing at his son, who flinched.
Upon hearing Lee Han's translations, Shin simply smiled and humbly said, "Luck played a big role in my success."
When the translations reached Han Woon-Sook, he chuckled, saying, "Haha, the Japanese are known for their humility, but your humbleness, Mr. Suzuki, is truly something!"
Shin, upon hearing the translations, continued to smile.
Other guests noticed the Chairman of the SamStar Group conversing with a young man. Some approached to eavesdrop, and Jeung Yun joined Han Jin-Sang's side.
With no response from Shin, Han Woon-Sook added, "Unlike my son, who still relies on me, I hope he possesses the same abilities as you, Mr. Suzuki," genuinely smiling at Shin.
Surprised guests and Jeung Yun looked at Shin and then at the embarrassed Han Jin-Sang. Annoyed, Han Jin-Sang thought, 'Why embarrass me like this, father?' Lee Mun-Hee, Woon-Sook's wife, overheard but observed quietly.
Shin, hearing the translations, reassured, "You don't need to compare your son to me. I'm sure he has something special, like the rest of us."
Guests, Jeung Yun, and Lee Mun-Hee were surprised to hear Lee Han speaking in Japanese, followed by the young man referred to as 'Mr. Suzuki' by the Chairman also conversing in Japanese.
They were astonished that the Chairman of the SamStar Group entertained a young man from Japan, speculating that he must be someone with an exceptional identity.
"Jin-Sang-Ssi, who is that man?" Jeung Yun inquired of Han Jiwoo, who remained silent and listened to Lee Han's translations.
'Hmm, he has something special in him, just like the rest of us? Is he implying I'm average like everyone else?' Han Jin-Sang misunderstood Shin's words.
'Just because you're accomplished due to your family's wealth, the Suzuki family, doesn't mean you can act smug here!' Han Jin-Sang thought, glaring at Shin.
Observing Han Jin-Sang's darkening expression, Jeung Yun decided not to ask him.
Han Woon-Sook chuckled at Shin's comment and agreed with his words.
"Mr. Han Woon-Sook, I'm here because I heard you wanted to see me. What is your purpose for inviting me?" Shin asked directly, noticing that Han Woon-Sook seemed to be engaging in pointless conversations.
Upon translating Shin's words to Han Woon-Sook, Lee Han's family, the guests, and Han Woon-Sook's wife and son were astonished by Shin's frankness.
"I like that, you're quite direct," Han Woon-Sook smiled, sipping his wine. "Lee-Ryu, let's move to that private area for confidential discussions."
Shin heard Lee Han's words; the Chairman of the SamStar Group seemed interested in a private discussion. Shin nodded, sparking curiosity among the guests, speculating it must be business-related.
Han Myung-Ki, the Vice Chairman of SamStar Group, scrutinized his elder brother and the young man. As they headed to the private room, he narrowed his eyes in observation.
In the private room, Shin took a seat on the sofa. Lee Han was surprised as he watched Han Woon-Sook personally serve Shin a glass of wine from the table.
"What's the deal with those guys?" Han Woon-Sook asked Lee Han, glancing at the intimidating men in black accompanying Shin.
After Lee Han translated Han Woon-Sook's concerns to Shin, Shin nodded and instructed the man beside him to leave. The man hesitated briefly before walking out of the room.
After the man exited, Han Woon-Sook continued, "As you can see, Mr. Suzuki, we are also venturing into the mobile phone business. However, over the years, the KRS models have been gradually outpacing the SamStar models."
Shin heard Lee Han's translation and smiled faintly, thinking, 'Of course... KRS models were modeled after the successful Nokia in my previous life and were quite advanced in technology.'
Then Han Woon-Sook added, "Mr. Suzuki, I'll offer you a favorable contract for distributing KiShin consoles and games. In return, if you sell the technology rights that KiShin possesses, specifically the parts used in the KRS models with Rebolt Technology, we'll buy them at an appropriate price."
Upon hearing this, Lee Han frowned slightly. When he translated it to Shin, both Lee Han and Han Woon-Sook were surprised to see Shin maintaining a calm expression.
"I cannot agree to that, but I can offer you licensing and, if you wish, a joint research on phones, with KiShin and SamStar developing phones together. In return, SamStar must allow us to engage in joint research in semiconductors and grant us licensing rights in SamStar's semiconductor technologies," Shin said with a smile, surprising even Lee Han.
"What did he say?" Han Woon-Sook asked. Upon hearing Lee Han's explanation, he chuckled, as if he had heard the most ridiculous proposal in the world.
"That's a lopsided deal for us. Semiconductors are among SamStar's most advanced technologies, and you want to collaborate on semiconductor research? Are KiShin's mobile phone technologies even worth it? Will they match our semiconductor technologies? Even Toshiba is surpassed by us in semiconductors," Han Woon-Sook sarcastically remarked.
Observing Lee Han's hesitant translation, Shin wasn't surprised by Han Woon-Sook's reaction. He smiled and continued, "Of course, that's not all, Mr. Han Woon-Sook. Your SamStar company, highly profitable in electronics—radios, TVs, computers, and home appliances overall—I have a subsidiary company, RealSoft Company, with technologies that could prove invaluable and potentially achieve global reach in the future. I propose granting SamStar licensing rights and even engaging in joint research on this technology together."
This was Shin's alternative strategy to acquire SamStar's technological advancements.
It would be advantageous if they pursued joint research, allowing KiShin to grow in technological research alongside SamStar.
RealSoft Company, initially unprofitable even years after Shin's investment, was eventually fully acquired by KiShin after its owner, Nathaniel Walsh, sold it.
Shin intended to leverage RealSoft's potential to persuade SamStar to agree. After Lee Han translated his proposal to Han Woon-Sook, the middle-aged man visibly became interested.
