Having pushed the dark energy away, Lotus really wanted to just walk away. However, the blot began to coagulate and come at them again!
She quickly manifested another whip with her energy and lashed out at the blot once more. This time a loud crack could be heard as there was a loud hiss behind her. Hearing this, a tremor under her suddenly shook her vision as she scowled. So this was what it meant. She glanced back to see the glare coming from the cobra's red eyes to which she sighed in exasperation and responded, "Right. No whips..."
She retracted her energy and sent out Little Jun.
"Big Sister?" Little Jun turned to her with eyes full of excitement as he asked, "Is there someone you want me to kill?!"
A shudder ran down the cobra's long spine when it heard such brutal words unfamiliarly used in such a cheerful and child-like tone. Moreover, something about this creature even mentioning a simple word so lightly could send a shudder in him! Just what is this creature?!
The angle of Lotus's mouth twitched when she heard this, "Who told you that I need to you to kill someone?"
Just who was it that taught their little child to speak such a ruthless term so lightly?! Could it have been Xiao Li?
She decided to interrogate later and said, "See that blot over there?"
He glanced over to her gesture and saw that thing with a look of confusion as if it had just noticed the blot was there.
"Does big sister want me to beat it up? I won't be able to kill it without harming the body, big sister."
"It sounds like Jamil would be harmed if we forcefully fight against this blot." Lotus frowned when she heard this and thought carefully, "What if we take the blot of out his body?"
"The blot was made as an aftermath of improper usage of spiritual energy. Taking out what was naturally made in the body can affect the balance of negative and positive energy in him and could affect his dantian after the overblot." The young kilin responded.
Now that it had progressed this much, it had started to go into the knowledge imprinted in him by his ancestors. However, the more he learned, the more he realized that the inhabitants of this world he was born in have put themselves into such a predicament. Utilizing mana the way do produces black liquid akin to ink and could heavily stain the souls within their bodies. As a result, their bodies have become accustomed to balancing the blot in their bodies and have grown used to utilizing a medium to help them manage the abundance of magic flowing from them. To take it away all of a sudden is like taking the bamboo diet from panda's. They've gotten so used to managing the blot in their bodies that their bodies may collapse if they were to suddenly take what they have been struggling to manage the entire time. Even if they have the ability to take the blot, it may endanger the magician's body by struggling to restructure their souls to this new development in their bodies.
Almost as if annoyed that it had suddenly been ignored, the blot struck at them again. However, Lotus instantly hit it back with her spiritual energy smacking it back in place.
"Stay." She scolded at it with irritation, "We'll deal with you in a bit."
Hearing this, the edge of the snake's mouth twitched as it saw the blot actually retreat cowardly. It had spent over an hour trying to fight back against this force and with one smack and word. It took one soul to fight back against the massive amount of blot, but how long did it took this little girl to subdue it? Just who was this girl?!
In less than an hour, she quickly subdued it and could even lash out at it verbally. So, what did that meant for it's own efforts?!
Thinking that, it just got more depressed and irritated. It had thought that, as a soul, it would be the stronger than a mere human, but it can't even subdue a mere ugly blot the way she did!
If Lotus could hear its thoughts, she would've just huffed and said that it had overestimated itself. Not even the greatest magician known to man had been able to fight back against the blot according to her mother. So, how could a soul be able to force a blot into submission?
"Is there anything we can do about it, then?" She asked Little Jun seeing that the blot is still accumulating.
"I believe we should continue to subdue it for now." The small horse-face kirin responded, "Since this is how the souls have always dealt against the blot, this is the best we can do."
"There's so much blot, how long can we subdue it?"
"Just until Big Sister's friends can snap him out of it."
"I see." Lotus nodded and began to regather her petal.
Reading her thoughts, Little Jun naturally knew what she was thinking and jumped excitedly, "Yeah, that could work too!"
She quickly transcribed onto her petals, then sent them out to surround the snake. A small gust blew between them as the barrier was formed. The cobra looked to her in bewilderment as it had never seen anything like this before. It touched the barrier curiously to find that it could easily slip through it. Seeing this, Lotus huffed and readjusted the barrier pushing its tail back in.
"Stay in there." Lotus scolded it, "It would be troublesome if something happened to you, after all."
She didn't think that the cobra would be just ad disobedient as its body. Thinking back the soul should be Jamil in a sense and recalling how the idiot overblotted himsef only made her more disappointed in the person she had thought so highly of. It was just as hard to find a smart person as it was to find a capable one in this world! Just what did she do to run into two snakes in one place?!
It knew the barrier was suspicious, but it still touched it! It's like telling a child not to do something, but it just more tempted to do it! How old was this guy?!
The cobra huffed in dismay and turned its head indicating it no longer wanted to see her anymore. At the same time, Lotus also didn't have the energy to persuade it anymore either and turned around no longer caring for its life or death. She had given it a chance and now it all depended on whether it wanted to live or not. Since it didn't dare to leave the barrier, the answer was rather obvious. She turned to Little Jun, "Can you make it stay in its place till Yuu and the others subdued the blot from the outside?"
"Okay!"
With that, the little Kirin crashed into the blot with its horn attacking it. Seeing this, she pulled out a book she had borrowed from the library and quickly began to scan it. It was about the human research of the blot and its results. Normally books like these could not be borrowed or ever placed on the shelves, but having read all she could on the humans' research of alchemy and magic, then reading about medicine and herbs exclusive to this world, she began to feel that the human knowledge of alchemy was not as impactful as those of her mother's knowledge. As a result, it annoyed her. She had even gone back to the Royal Sword Academy twice and still found nothing, even after sneaking into the restricted area of the library. There was nothing.
She hated her own incompetence as she had struggled with creating antidotes after antidotes. In the end, she still found nothing. No potions she had created has been effective to her condition, not even the alchemy from her own world worked on her! She thought she had gone through all of the books in the library. That was until she came upon the hidden section of the library she had been trying to find. In a school of magic, there are many who have secret libraries in their school. The Royal Sword Academy and Night Raven College were such schools. Because of this she struggled to find the hidden library within the school and the week before school was out for the holidays, she had finally found that hidden section.
That day before Mister Crewel announced about the winter vacation, she casually walked around the area looking for medical books she had not yet read when she accidentally stumbled across a book shelf with a strange aura leaking out from it as soon as she took out a book of interest at first. Having grown curious of that aura, she snuck into their library with her ability and did her usual scan of the area that same night.
