"Would you be all right with this?" Lotus questioned them hesitantly.
"This..." Hei Hui paused in surprise and thought for a bit before she nodded with a wide smile, "Yes... Yes, we would be more than willing to do so."
Hearing her offer, the two guardians were dumbfounded and at a loss for words at first. How often does alchemist exists amongst human cultivators? Probably one out of every hundred cultivators. However, what of the numbers that could or would be willing to make pills for spiritual beasts? Obviously only a handful of people during their era where beasts and humans were at a conflict between one another!
Being in a new world, they were the only cultivators and spiritual beasts are incapable of creating pills or taking of skills well known to that of humans. So, naturally, they were unable to create pills for themselves and alchemy pills for beasts are so rare that their price often sky rockets in black markets!
However, Lotus never knew that. In her past life, her only experience outside of her palace were a small handful and her understanding of the other kingdom's value were vague. How could she understand the plight of the spiritual beasts have regarding alchemy pills all this time? All she was allowed to understand by heart was the plight of her own people, her duty, and her appearance. If she had known this, she would've haggled more benefits out of the two guardians instead of giving it away so simply!
"So eager!" Raaji gapped in surprise. Was this pill really valuable?
"However, doing this, you will have to create another antidote for Mister A-Cong's poison, you know?" Huo Wei said with a troubled look.
"That's not a problem. I knew I would have to make another antidote since his poison would become stronger as well." Lotus nodded with a sigh of disappointment, "If I don't do this, I would naturally have to bring Raaji as Scarabia's representative again, but I can't always bring him to disappear into the desert for days. Jamil would become suspicious otherwise."
Raising a brow in surprise, Huo Wei didn't think that she would still hand out the pills to the two since it would give her so much work to create another. However, what was more shocking was the fact that she was confident that she could develop a cure in less than a few days than the two guardians!
"Give me a day's time." Lotus said, "If I can make the antidote, then I get to share the antidote with Raaji's dorm. If not, then you would be the only one benefitting from this trade."
Hearing this, the two were shocked. They, the producer of their own poison, can naturally create an antidote faster than others outside of their clan, but a human cultivator claims that she can create one faster than they can?!
Hei Hui didn't believe that she can create one that fast. However, this was someone who can create an array on par with theirs. It was then that it dawned on her as she recalled the conversation between her and Huo Wei. Could she also be an alchemist too?
An array master was much more difficult to find than an Alchemist, but one with both skills are just as precious!
Since it was like this, then this girl is definitely not normal and she was wrong to have doubted her! How often do they come across someone this generous too? If they could curry favor with her, then there's no doubt that she could help them rise in power just as she had with the guardian in Heartslabyul dorm.
"Very well." Hei Hui nodded her head with a wide smile, "If you can create an antidote within a day's time, then you may use that. If not, then you can't ask us for the antidote nor can you ask for the pill back, but we will give you the antidote to our poison that was before we advanced in power."
"Great!" Lotus said with a wide smile and handed the pills to them.
Surprised, A-Cong stared at her in bewilderment and hesitation, "J-Just like that?"
"Just like what?" Lotus frowned, "I'm not someone who would just go back on their word. I said you can have the pills for this trade. So naturally, you may have the pills."
"Th-This..." A-Cong stammered nervously.
A few moments ago, he had been on guard and rude towards her, but, now, she was giving him such a useful thing. Thinking this, he naturally felt ashamed for his initial behavior. Perhaps, he should at least give her some respect even if he does not like her as much.
The two took the two golden pills and immediately started to return to their respective caves to advance. Raaji turned to her, "What are they doing?"
"They're going to indoor cultivate." She answered, "They'll absorb the mana from the pills and use it to lift the limits of the mana and power inside them. This way, they can hold more mana and make their magic stronger. They've been at the same level of power for over a hundred years. Naturally, they want to grow stronger after trying to for so many years."
"Just from that pill?!" Raaji exclaimed in bewilderment. To him, the gold pill looked similar to a piece of an accessory than some magic pill. Yet, it can make them that much stronger after they've gotten this far for over a hundred years! However, could this really be true?
"It's not often that alchemist can make pills for spiritual beasts much less willing since the structure of the human body and spiritual beasts are different and there a conflict between the two sides. As a result, they would naturally comply to whatever Lady Lotus asks for. Not only that, but they've also received a favorable impression of her. I assume the same could be same for you?" Huo Wei said to Lotus.
Lotus shrugged, "Who knows. Now, I got to make preparations for the antidote. I also need to take into consideration that the consumers are the Scarabia dorm and not all of them can handle that much mana in them. The mana has to be as weak as possible but still capable of attacking the venom of snakes and scorpions. To do that, I need to create an antidote to the poison first..."
As she went on grumbling to herself, Raaji was surprised to see that Lotus was actually taking this seriously for once compared to how carefree she sounded a couple days before. Could she really complete an antidote by the desired time?
The entire night went by when two lights shone from the caves and a tremendous amount of mana gushed out from the caves. Raaji was shocked when he felt the mana that morning. It was so much mana! Could that much mana really have come from one pill?! It was little wonder why Lotus had mentioned that the mana would be too much for the dorm. If there was that much mana in them, they could put their lives in danger, unlike the dorm leader of Heartslabyul!
The two walked out as the woman in white now had a slight warm glow from her gold eyes. A-Cong didn't quite change but the aura around him became more formidable and the gaze seemed more sterner and stronger if that was a good thing or a bad thing...
The two took out a porcelain vial and dripped an opaque liquid into the vials. They handed the vials to Lotus as Hei Hui said with a wide and expectant smile, "You can start now."
It was unusual to see the woman place her canine tooth against the vial to inject the poison into the vial. What was scarier was how a black scorpion tail appeared from behind A-Cong and injected poison into the vial! It was a reminder that these two people weren't just any mere beastmen and were much stronger and potentially dangerous against magicians. It was more reassuring that they were their guardians rather than their enemies. In the future, he will have to remember not to let his guests into Night Raven College without permission from the staffs or they could be in big trouble.
"Right." Lotus nodded and took the vials of poison away.
Raaji watched in shock as she produced a large wooden table in the middle of nowhere with numerous herbs and items on top!
"Wh-What are those?!" Raaji gaped in bewilderment, "I can see some of the herbs that are on the table."
"Those are herbs that can be found in this world..." Hei Hui noted curiously when she saw this with surprise, "Could it really be that simple to create an antidote from the ingredients found in this world?"
"What are the difference?" Huo Wei turned to them curiously.
"The ecosystem of this world's mana is different from ours." Hei Wei explained, "Unlike the mana in our world, this world's mana is much purer but scarce in comparison to our world. However, the mana in our world is much more categorized than this world. As a result, only very few of the herbs between these worlds exists with the same property or structure."
