CHAPTER 76

"I am sorry. I didn't want you to panic and cause your parents to worry so much before you all got here," he explained briefly, hoping they would accept it and not hold a grudge.

Mrs Ishida took in a deep breath, her hands moving up and down her thighs as she directed her gaze to her husband, not too sure of what to expect.

Noticing his wife's troubled look, he raised his hand up to dismiss the thought Sasuke was having. "No, we do not blame you for anything, son. Although, I would love to know how it all happened."

"Well sir, we were to shower and meet each other at the staircase close to the changing room then go out to celebrate her victory for the sporting activities. I later got a message to wait for her outside the school building as our P.E sent for her. I did and by the time the wait was getting too long, I went in search for her, only to find out the P.E teacher never sent for her."

"Someone is playing dirty. Who would do that?" Itsumi interjected, her eyes narrowed with her fingers tapping away on her chin absentmindedly.

Everyone turned their gaze to look at her, waiting for her obvious conclusion but got none. A minute later, she looked at Sasuke only to realize, they were all now looking back at her.

"Oh, sorry. I was just thinking. Did I say that out loud?" she asked, her head turning to look at every one.

"Yes you did sis," Itachi whispered in her ears before looking forward and asking Sasuke to continue. "Carry on, she won't disturb further."

"Hmm," Sasuke nodded and continued his tale, explaining to them how things went.

By the time he was done, the door to Sakiko's ward opened slightly to reveal a man in his early thirties, wearing a white lab coat with a stethoscope and a hospital note and men in his hand.

Everyone turned their heads to the side to see who it was that was coming out.

The doctor, on the other hand, had his eyes fixed on the file in his hand that he failed to notice their presence until he looked up.

"Good evening Doctor," the Ishidas greeted him by the time he looked up, startling him with their voices.

Itsumi chuckled a little at the doctor's startled expression, earning her a nudge in her ribs from Itachi. She turned her head to face her brother, shooting him a glare and he returned hers with one of his.

Mrs Ishida who saw their childlike attitude in front of the doctor, couldn't help but shake her head and scold them. "Behave, you two."

"Sorry," they both mouthed their apology and straightened up.

By now all eyes were now on the Doctor who cleared his throat to address them.

"Good evening to you. I presume you are Sakiko's parents?" he asked, his eyes darting to the file in his hands briefly and darted back to Sakiko's parents.

"Yes, Doctor. How is she?" Ms Ishida quickly asked. Her hands raised in front of her chest and clasped together while she awaited his answer.

"She is better now. I just finished running a check up on her, she is good to go and out of danger. There was no concoction in her brain, just the cut at the side of her head, but we would do further check-up once she wakes up to ensure she is out of danger completely."

He briefed them on the situation and watched as they all took in the news. There were tears of joy in their eyes, Mrs Ishida and Sasuke didn't hold theirs in and let it out.

"You were the young man that saved her?"

The doctor turned his head to the side where Sasuke stood. Sasuke nodded at him as his mouth opened to respond to his question. "Yes, sir."

"Good, thankfully you found her on time and brought her in. You are sure she wasn't involved in a fight right?"

"Yes sir, I do not think so though. By the time I found her she was lying unconscious on the floor at the bottom of the stairs."

"Alright, I want to be sure she didn't receive any blow to her head before the fall."

"I doubt that sir. She doesn't engage in fights," Itsumi chipped in.

She knew her sister, she was calm and cool headed at times, but she doesn't let people cross her. Worse comes to it, she would use her words to make the person cry.

It was only on the occasion whereby Mari was slapped and left to Itsumi, she wished her sister did more, but her primped and proper raining wouldn't allow her.

"Okay, if you say so. All we can do is wait for her to wake up. Only the patient can attest to what happened."

They nodded to his statement. True it was now left for Sakiko to give her own side of the story since Sasuke wasn't there, but from his story and the mysterious message, they knew someone was obviously behind her fall.

The only problem now would be finding out who.

"Thank you, Doctor. I would consult with the school's head and have the CCTV footage checked to see what truly happened," Mr Ishida said, informing the doctor of what he was going to do.

"Some of you can wait at the reception and just two people can stay here. When she wakes up, you can see her one after the other."

"Thank you very much, Doctor. We will," Mrs Ishida assured him, nodding her head at him.

"Good, very well then. If you would excuse me, I need to tend to other patients."

"By all means," Mr Ishida responded and they cleared the way for him to pass.

He returned his gaze to the kids and said, "You three, go wait at the reception or take Sasuke out to eat. He needs his strength, we cannot have him collapsing on us as well."

"Okay, dad. Just call us when she wakes up," Itachi agreed and lead Itsumi and Sasuke away.
