The girl took a step closer to the shooting place, making Ember uneasy. The footsteps were making it hard for her to breathe, a stark contrast to her earlier calmness while staring at Emir.
"Cheng Xiao! Why is she...?" Ember's surprised look was tinged with annoyance.
"Why am I getting angry just looking at her? It's too irritating to see her here," Ember couldn't even bring herself to look at her. When she noticed Cheng Xiao standing beside Emir, her face turned red, but this time, it wasn't from blushing; she was angry.
When Emir and Cheng Xiao saw each other, he greeted her with a polite "Good afternoon."
She leaned closer to Emir and whispered, "Long time no see. Why haven't you been coming to college? You never used to take holidays. When she came, you suddenly became scarce."
This proximity between Cheng Xiao and Emir further displeased Ember. She couldn't hear their conversation, but she didn't like it.
"May I ask why it's important for me to see you every day?" Emir asked. As he said this, his eyes found Ember, who was standing far away but was easily seen by Emir. When he noticed Ember's displeased and slightly mad expression, a thought crossed his mind, "Is she jealous?" This thought made him chuckle, "I feel so happy to see that she is jealous," he thought.
Cheng Xiao noticed Emir laughing and asked, "Why are you laughing all of a sudden?"
"It's not your concern," Emir replied, his gaze still on Ember.
The shoot began, and they took their positions. The set was filled with the sounds of "click! Snap!" from the cameras. A few photos were normal, but then the photographer arranged some props, including some books. In this scene, xiao was reading, and Emir had to focus on the book she was holding.
"Closer," the photographer shouted. "Nice."
Ember found the whole situation annoying. It seemed like they were taking college photos or couple photos, and she couldn't understand why. She couldn't bear to watch any longer. She turned away towards the dressing room.
She began a self-talk as she walked away, "Ember, don't look back... Don't look back... Don't bother with what's happening there."
Emir noticed that Ember was leaving and thought, "Where is she going?" He became distracted, and the photographer asked in concern, "Dylan, what are you doing? You're not even looking in this frame."
"I think everyone's getting tired. Can we take a break?" Emir suggested.
"Okay, let's call it a break," the photographer announced.
