Sammer's biggest pet peeve is when players don't follow his instructions and change their tactics without authorization.
It was a challenge to his authority!
This was totally intolerable to him!
The unauthorized switch between Ballack and Augusto was a godsend though, and changed the game, even allowing his play to complete the intended matchup on the offensive end as well.
But it also leaves the same pitfalls in the midfield.
Augusto's defense is completely subpar, can't be an all-around midfielder, and doesn't protect the ball in a timely manner.
Ballack also has problems playing up front, he's not a great dispossessor either and isn't very efficient at breaking through effectively.
It could be argued that the emergence of this Juventus counter-attack was generated by these two issues put together.
The great run before masked all of this, but any mistake by Barack could be fatal for the team!
