As Ray prepared to step into the portal, suddenly, without warning, a group of sharp black arrows shot from the shadows of the forest. They moved swiftly and fiercely, like a fiery rain descending upon Ray, who stood in shock and confusion.
With quick reflexes, Ray shifted to avoid the attack, but the arrows continued to approach him rapidly. Although he managed to dodge several of them, Ray eventually fell to the ground, shaken by the assault.
Ray then sensed several figures rushing towards him, but he couldn't see them clearly as they resembled dark creatures in motion.
Ray remained highly alert, keeping his focus on the direction in which these mysterious figures moved.
After a while, Ray found nothing and became convinced that the dark figures had ceased their movement.
Ray was torn between standing and remaining in a seated position, keeping a watchful eye on the dark figures lurking in the shadows.
