As soon as she saw him, Zary remembered those golden eyes that had stared at her before she fainted and those… dark wings. She shook her head. She must have been hallucinating when she thought she had seen those wings. No matter how real they had seemed, that just could not be possible! It must have been that drug that ‘Aron’ had injected into her which caused her to see such supernatural things.
He was suddenly by her side, bending over and gathering her up into his arms.
“You need to eat, Zary.” He informed her. His voice sounded neutral, but she could see a tinge of coldness in his eyes. Not that she could blame him.
She winced at the thought that he was mad at her. Of course, he would be mad at her. She had run away from him and did not trust him.
They were completely silent as he walked slowly down the stairs. She honestly did not know what to even say anymore. Where to even begin.
