"Mythics are divided into two kinds: Shifters and Elementals. Shifters harness animal energy, essentially becoming animals in human form. Elementals wield the five elements: fire, earth, wind, ice, and water. Typically, a Mythic possesses one or two elements, along with a unique superpower. However, a royal Mythic commands all five elements."
Leticia listened intently, her eyes wide with wonder. "So, are you a Shifter or an Elemental?" she asked.
Ethan's smile was nostalgic. "I'm a Shifter. Your mother, Alisha, was an Elemental - a royal one, at that."
"Mom was a princess."
Ethan's expression turned bitter. "Yes, she was. But her family didn't approve of our relationship, so we left."
Leticia's brow furrowed, sensing a deeper story behind her parents' past. Leticia's frown deepened. "But you're a Mythic, too..."
Ethan's expression turned somber. "Yes, a Shifter, a commoner. Unacceptable to her family." He paused, collecting his thoughts. "When a Shifter and Elemental have a child, there's only a 10% chance the child will inherit both abilities. Usually, they'll be one or the other, like your sisters, Lissa and Lily."
"So, am I a Shifter or Elemental?" She grinned, hoping to be the latter.
Ethan cleared his throat, a hint of a smile on his face. "Well, Leticia, you're a rare exception. You have both Elemental and Shifter abilities, which means you possess five elements and animal energies."
Leticia's jaw dropped. "That's too much power!"
"Yes, it is." Ethan nodded, his expression turning serious. "Which is why your mother confined your powers in orbs. It's dangerous to be supernatural around humans, and she wanted to protect you and your sisters. She found a way to block your energy gates, just to to keep you safe."
Leticia nodded, her trust in her mother evident. "I trust mom."
"But obviously, that didn't work Leticia. You're in danger. I don't know why or how but someone out there is out to get you. And you need to learn to defend yourself. Also, your energies are confined, and you're weakening without them. They must be returned to you."
Leticia's eyes widened, fear creeping in. "But I don't know how to use them..."
"Devon will be your personal trainer. He'll guide you through everything you need to know. Just be cooperative. He's the best."
Leticia's brow furrowed. "He's a vampire."
Ethan nodded reassuringly. "Yes I know. But I have my reasons dear. Trust me?" He asked, holding her hands. Leticia gave her father a small smile, nodding, "I do."
Ethan nodded, " I'll bring the orbs when I break the barriers guarding them. Then..."
Leticia's voice trailed off, her eyes filled with a mix of fear and resignation. "My once normal life changes forever and ever."
Ethan's smile was warm, his eyes filled with love. He kissed her forehead. "I love you, Leticia."
Leticia's voice was barely above a whisper. "I love you too, Daddy."

The room was dark and warm, only illuminated by the bright glow of three tiny marble like objects. Ethan sighed heavily, hoping this would at least, help her in some way. Maybe she wouldn't die then.

The next day was even more boring than the previous. She's not caught a glance of Devon and when she eventually asked a maid, she'd told her that he'd left the mansion for some hours now.
Feeling a bit disappointed and restless, Leticia decided to take a stroll through the halls, admiring the stunning paintings and architectural works. She couldn't help but think, "He's so damn wealthy." While she knew Devon was a businessman, she had no idea what his core business was. He had mentioned something about work so she decided she was going to ask him whenever he returned.
As she walked, she sensed a presence behind her. Turning around, she saw no one. Shrugging it off, she continued her stroll but soon felt the presence again. This time, she stopped and turned around more cautiously. Still, she saw nothing. But her intuition told her something was off.
Suddenly, someone covered her mouth from behind and began pulling her away. Leticia struggled to break free, but it was futile. She couldn't even scream with her mouth covered. Panic set in as she thought, 'Am I really going to get kidnapped?'
She suddenly had an idea. With all her might, she raised her leg and delivered a hard kick to her abductor's groin. The person yelped in pain, and Leticia managed to break free. She could have ran away or scream for help but as she faced her attacker, she froze.
