While they grew louder all around me, screams roused me to consciousness. All I could see was blood splattered over the cover, which prevented me from seeing the opposite side, leaving me uncertain of where I was. The black fluffy blanket that had been keeping me covered was taken away. My legs were bandaged under the blanket, and they appeared to have helped my leg feel better. However, I grabbed the blanket to cover myself because I was without clothes before I looked to see who was yelling.
*Swoosh*
Blood splashed on my face as I peeled back the cover. Although I started to feel sick, the scene in front of me was far worse. Someone was or was cutting something with a silver knife while wearing a coat, maybe a doctor's coat. Even though my leg was more healed, I had to move closer since it was still a bit difficult to walk. The guy was dismembering a human being, and I could hear them pleading for my assistance as their crimson eyes glared at me. I moved back as tears of blood dropped from it's body, but when I did, it appeared as though the person who was stabbing the other person was suddenly behind me. Two hands grabbed me up and threw me into the bed, sending shivers up my spine.
"I had given up hope that you would ever awaken, yet it seems like you have."
"Why were you chopping someone up? Who are you? Why are you hurting another person are you also going to chop me up?"
"Haha, you poor thing, I won't rip you up. The only reason I chopped up someone else was that they attempted to hurt my sweet patient. Anyone who could not even protect himself from injuring someone like you is acceptable in my eyes."
"I see, but didn't you have the option of asking him to leave or warning him not to attempt it again? It's not necessary to murder or dismember someone!" I found it repulsive that someone could utter such things without even expressing regret or shame for dismembering another live being. If they had been dead, I may have been able to understand, but they were still alive and pleading for assistance.
"You really are cute, and it's evident that this is your first time witnessing someone die as a result of their actions. You must do all in your power to survive in this world, including using the lives of others as leverage. Listen, you rascal. The likelihood of succeeding and leaving this location increases with the number of deceased. If we don't take action to escape, we can all wind up dying in the end. It's not all that horrible to sell off people's body parts for a little money; those monsters are eager to exchange human remains for gear and weapons, so the exchange is reasonable."
All of it was true, therefore I was unable to respond. To ensure that I could leave this place, I had to take every action within my ability. If I didn't, I would perish just like the man in the adjacent room. The cries continued for what felt like hours until they finally ended, and the thought of it was revolting. Although I was relieved that the screaming had stopped, I understood that it meant he had passed away. All I could do was watch in horror as a real person's life was stolen in front of me. The doctor was getting closer and handed me the clothes I was wearing the day before when I looked up.
I finished, walked out of the doctor's office, changed, and came back into the packed room. I couldn't care less that they were shouting and glaring at me because I wanted to go. My eyes began to become watery. At home, I want to be in my parents' arms. Why did I have to experience so much pain? I should not have accepted this hotel's offer after all. Even though it was obvious that it was either a scam or a fake, I still showed up. I chose to go to the hotel and ruin my plans for the future. I should have been in a class by this point, but I wasn't. I was kept in a box with insane killers.
*Buzz, Buzz*
"Win the game this time, and if that means murdering someone in the process, do it. Even though you might be feeble, try to think creatively since you never know what might work."
"Why should I succeed?"
"You already know the reason. Or would you rather murder them and escape than stop sobbing and risk being killed by them?"
It appeared that in order to triumph, I would have to develop into a crazed killer like the rest of them. There is nothing else I can do but win, therefore I must. I'll do whatever it takes, even if it means using my nice, clean hands to hurt someone. It felt appropriate, so I got to my feet and opened my rucksack to check out the silver blade I had taken from the doctor. I grinned as I turned to face the people nearby, wondering who I would kill next.
*Buzz!!!*
"The next game is about to begin! Enter the arena, everyone; you wouldn't want to miss this. Welcome to this round of games, where we will be playing a murder-related game today.
The regulations are rather straightforward and uncomplicated. It will be a lot of fun for all of us, I'm sure. To exit this game's level, you must kill one opponent. There is the potential for several players to go to the next stage, unlike the former game when there was only one winner. What fun is that? The only rule is to just kill; however, if you leave the arena, you are disqualified from the game. All things considered, I still require additional participants for other games.
Oh my goodness, look at all those folks who just left the arena. We had more than half as many players only a moment ago; it looks like this round will be entertaining. Well, it looks like he needs to decorate his arena to make it more entertaining."
Both bushes and trees started to emerge. I must have been lucky because a tree suddenly appeared underneath me, lifting me to a great height from where I could see everyone's placements. All I had to do was locate a frail rabbit that accidentally stepped into my trap. Whoever it was supposed to be, I wonder. It seemed like a couple of people were walking towards the tree, they seemed to be hiding in the bushes but I could see everything. When they were close enough I wanted to jump from the tree and land on one of them killing them. But the closer they got the more scared I became.
It's not a nice thing to hurt others. Was that the only possible strategy to win the game? I felt as though time had frozen, and my only thought was whether or not to jump and stab them to death. If I killed someone, would I also kill others just for fun? This is foolish; I had a choice between being alive and them. It appeared as though a stronger force was in charge of my body, yet I was actually the one in control. I sprang from the tree as the lovely tree's leaves began to speckle with a dark crimson color. I felt filthy since this liquid had now stained my clothes, but before I could respond, a doorway opened beneath me. I began to drop into what appeared to be a lengthy tube.
I stumbled into what appeared to be a huge dandelion, which broke my fall. I felt as though I was smaller as I opened my eyes to what appeared to be a wilderness of overgrown trees and vegetation. I couldn't help but look down as I struggled to descend and saw what appeared to be a kingdom a few miles distant. It was enormous and had a stunning holy flag flying above it. I proceeded down the dandelion stem cautiously, closing my eyes because I was frightened I might fall off. However, as I got close to the button, nothing occurred.
It was quite simple to go to the castle, so I started moving into the overgrown grasslands in that direction. I hacked off the grass preventing me from passing specific sections using the knife I had taken. I once noticed a huge vein that appeared to be a quicker path to pass through this stand of tall trees. I descended the vein using a leaf I plucked from a tree that had fallen. I was having so much fun that I couldn't help but forget what I had done earlier. The moment I arrived at the imposing silver gate, the sun had already set before I realized it.
"Who are you, why are you trying to enter at such a late time. Are you perhaps trying to get into this kingdom to cause trouble?" A knight said while pointing a large sword at my neck.
"Sebastian Torres, I only arrived a short while ago, got lost in the vast forest nearby. I came across this country while traveling and tried to enter before darkness fell. I wanted to be secure for the night since I'm not sure whether there are wicked beasts or other frightening things in there. I'm not opposed to departing in the morning."
"Oh, I see you're a new player. I guess you may come in, but please don't cause any trouble for this kingdom. Not everyone in this place is a player since some individuals were born to players, but others who aren't players don't want their kids to learn about the terrible games that people are made to play. They are always friendly to defenseless players like yourself, so if you head in that direction, I'm sure you can find a bed."
"Thanks!"
*Village*
I started moving in the direction of the inn while asking random people where it was. Although everything appeared to be straight out of a computer game, the town was rather lovely, and I was able to smell and touch everything. As there were knights virtually at every corner of the settlement, I knew that I would be secure within these walls. I could now see the inn's wooden sign as I drew nearer. It was very lovely; flowers were blossoming on the outside, and there were people conversing inside. As I opened the door, people wearing armor, a sword, and a staff peered at me; their glances were frightening. A dashing man beckoned me over just as I was about to leave.
"You must be new around here because you don't even have any gear or loot on you. Welcome to this great inn. Will you tell me if you might need a place to stay the night?"
"Oh, I remember hearing that I could get a place to stay the night. Though I don't have any cash on me, I can understand if you don't want me to stay there because I have no method to make payment." I was somewhat worn out from traveling, but I didn't want to appear frail in front of individuals who had armor and weapons that might instantly kill me.
"Follow me upstairs. We don't have a spare bedroom, but I can let you sleep in my room. I'll join you later, so don't be alarmed if the door is opened. Don't worry about it; you can pay us back later. Since we are both men, I don't see why we should be shy, am I right?"
"No, no it's fine, I'll just sleep on the floor, I have my own blanket to sleep on. Thank you again, I'll make sure to repay you"
*Night*
"Ah, it seems this kiddo decided to sleep on the floor. I better get him onto the bed."
lying next to He was allowed to stay in Sebastian's room by that inn guest. He apparently chose to make space on his bed for Sebastian since he didn't want him to be sleeping on the floor. Sebastian's pale, silky skin was next to him. They both appeared to sleep for a long time. A worry-free night because nobody was pursuing Sebastian or attempting to harm him.
