Chapter 21: World of Magic (Engagement)

While Lu Xie was waiting in the living room, Yu Seol was panicking inside her room. The dress she wanted to wear was ruined by a maid, she knew it was deliberate. The dress was put inside a protective cover so how did it got stained?

The maid who ruined was long gone, Mini and the other maids were running around her closet for any dress to fit her. Tears fall her cheek, she looked forward to today and yet was ruined.

Mini saw her crying and immediately came to comfort her "Princess don't cry your makeup will get ruined" she softly wiped her tears with a handkerchief.

"What am I gonna do, I don't want to embarrass my father and my soon to he fiance" Yu Seol cried tears kept falling down her cheek

"Princess don't worry we will make it somehow" Mini was distressed

Yu Seol cried, even more, and her cries were heard by Lu Xie in the living room. She stood up and softly knocked on the door.

"Ayu, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" she asked softly

The cries inside the room stopped, and it was silent. A few moments later, the door opened by Mini.

"Duke Lu please forgive me but the princess's dress was ruined by a maid," Mini said calmly

Yu Seol told her not to tell him but she had no choice she didn't want the princess to be sad. Lu Xie was calm "Wait here," she said and went to Van who was outside the door holding a box.

"Give me the gift" Lu Xie said Van gave him the box and then returned to his position

Lu Xie returned and handed the gift box to Mini "This is a dress I want to gift the princess later, but she can use it now" she said then returned to her seat.

Mini went back inside with a gift box in her hand "Mini what's that" Yu Seol asked looking at the exquisite box

"Princess, this is a gift from the Duke he was going to give it to you but since I told him what happened he said you can wear this" Mini said a little guilty

"Really" Yu Seol's eye brightens and took the gift in her hand and slowly opened it

Seeing the dress inside the smile on her face was even wider.

Everyone was gathered in the ballroom and talking when the announcer spoke.

"PRESENTING THE HER HIGHNESS PRINCESS YU SEOL AND DUKE LU XIE," He said loudly

The door opened wide and two figures walked in together, everyone was stunned and stupefied in their place. The two were so dazzling.

The princess was wearing a beautiful dark blue sleeveless wrapped dress, the dress fit perfectly on her and showed her voluptuous curves. The dress had beautiful patterns as if personally painted by a famous painter.

Her body was covered with the cape of the royal family and had soft cotton on the ends making it look warm and comfortable.

Her face had a small smile, she wore light makeup that matches her dress pretty well. In her ear was a night sky amethyst that dangled lightly on her ear, her presence was strong.

The noble women were all staring at Lu Xie.

Lu Xie was wearing a dark gray long-sleeve polo, black pants, and back shoes. The clothes all had golden linings on them and the patterns of Duke Lu were engraved on the right part of the clothes.

She also wore a dark gray cape that falls on her back, her face was cold showing no emotion. She held the princess's hand as they walked down the stairs, the two were like a match in heaven.

Both are from superior families and both are beautiful a match made by the heavens. Their arrival also caught the attention of the 3 countries princes.

Lu Xie's aura and presence were also strong, stronger than the royal family. Her body excluded a cold feeling, the whole person was enough to be a threat to other countries.

They all heard his accomplishments since it was widely spread by people, they all praised him and we're grateful for wiping the people who caused trouble to them.

The strength of the shield of the Yu Kingdom is different being blessed by dragons gives them physical and mental powers. That surpasses normal people's strength, which makes it less common sense.

The two walked gracefully and stood by the small podium, then the announcer speak again.

"PRESENTING HIS MAJESTY YU, PRINCE YU LAN, AND PRINCE YU MAN," He said loudly

Three men walked together all wearing similar outfits of white and gold embedded in the clothes. They all walked to the small podium where the two brothers saw their baby sister and Lu Xie beside her.

Lu Xie bowed to them respectfully, Yu's dad was satisfied by him, and the two brothers also smiled at her. The two brothers were beside their baby sister while the king stood on the highest stage and used magic.

"Welcome everyone to our humble kingdom, and thank you for attending my birthday. Today, I have an announcement to make" Yu's dad said with magic that made his voice loud for everyone to hear.

All were focused on what he would announce, Lu Xie is also curious about what he would announce since in the plot he didn't announce anything.

"I would like to announce the engagement of my only daughter and the young Duke of the Lu family," He said loudly

Everyone clapped and said congratulations.

Lu Xie was stunned this never happened in the plot, the princess was not engaged with the original owner. Yu Seol saw the stunned look on Lu Xie's face and tightened her grip on the hand holding him.

Lu Xie returned to her senses and Yu Seol was looking at her a little sad she might think that she doesn't like her. Her lips curved upwards and pulled her gently to the podium.

"Everyone please let's have a toss for my birthday and the engagement of my daughter. Cheers" Yu's dad held wine in his hand and ride it up

"Cheers" everyone also raises their wine glass and then drinks at the same time

Lu Xie also drinks the wine she took from the waiter and showed a slight smile. Which were seen by noble ladies all had their eyes on her, and even had a blush on their faces.

Yu Seol saw the look of the noble ladies and was a little dissatisfied, her finger interlocked with her fingers and leaning her weight on her fiance.

"EVERYONE PLEASE ENJOY THE PARTY," Yu's dad said and the three stepped down the podium

"Congratulations, baby sis on your engagement," Yu Lan said he was about to cry

"Lu Xie you better take care of my baby sister or else" Yu Man threaten he looked at her sharply like a sword

"Don't worry your highness I'll take good care of her" Lu Xie said serious her face was sincere

Yu Man nodded in satisfaction and patted her shoulder "Well then brother in law better stick to your words" he said calmly but also threatening

Lu Xie nodded in front, and everyone in the room was looking at them. She opened her right hand and bright magic shone, an exquisite ring floating majestically in the air as if the star was shooting down her palm.

"With this ring, I promise to take care of you, love you, and be my only wife for the rest of my life" Lu Xie wore the ring on the princess's left hand while saying those words

The ring was very beautiful, can't be compared to any ring because the ring was made with a dragon's blessings, the steel was made with a dragon's scale, and the gem in the ring was the heart of a dragon.

The ring can protect the owner and have large amounts of mana to supply to the owner. The ring can't be removed at will unless the descendant of a dragon will take it off, and it can adjust to its owner's finger size.

This ring was passed from generation to generation, only the Duke of the house wears this ring, and can only be given if the Duke wants. It's a treasure that people would be jealous of. The rings were made for a pair.

Yu Seol was shocked but tears fell down her cheek she was happy, Lu Xie gently took out a handkerchief and wipe her tears.

"Don't cry or they would think I'm bullying you" Lu Xiebsaid softly

Yu Seol shook her head and hugged her tightly, Lu Xie patted her back soothingly.

"Sis don't cry," Yu Lan said distressed but he is happy for her.

"Come on sis, your make-up will get ruined your gonna turn ugly" Yu Man teased

Yu Seol immediately stopped crying and looked at her brother 'Is my makeup ruined' look. She didn't want to be ugly in front of her fiance.

The two brothers were amused by their sister she is even worried about her appearance in front of Lu Xie.

"Don't worry sis you are still beautiful" Yu Lan saw her tense and appease her

Yu Seol breathe in relief and looks at Lu Xie who is also staring at her. Her eyes were looking at her pamperingly and her lips turned upwards. She felt dizzy with the beautiful smile she still can't get used to his handsome appearance.
