The maid threw away the bracelet in the fire and dragged her up from her chair, causing a large squeaking sound to reverberate.
Adis turned around to leave, but not even a second later, he suddenly paused and walked toward the artificial fire where the whip lay motionless, his outer layer slowly getting burned away by flames.
Just as he was about to pick it up, the maid let go of Amelia and stopped him. "I would do it, your highness."
She bent down on both knees with a flattering expression and picked it up slowly; the pain inflected on her by flames didn't show on her face as she handed it over to Adis with bloody hands that would cause an ordinary person to feel repulsed.
"This whip originally belonged to the imperial family." He said it with a mysterious look in his eyes but didn't take it.
"It was made by the spoiled son of the fifth emperor of the Angostanian empire, and aside from him, no one throughout history was able to use this whip."
