Sibling's Day Out

"Well, how about going out today? I am getting PRETTY bored in the house these days." Lin Dan suggested his siblings.

"Seems like you are not training enough these days to have free time to get bored, ha?" Lin Jiang asked his twin.

"Can I reject?" Lin Huiying raised her hand which gained her few narrow eyes.

"No, your lazy bun cannot reject. Pretend I didn't ask you the question." Lin Dan ignored her and looked at others.

"Well, I don't have much work to do. I am okay with it." Lin Fengmian nodded.

"Ahhhh! Goodness, I need a break too." Lin Biao said while messaging her shoulders.

With that, the plan was finalized.

"But it's hot out!" Lin Huiying's protest fell on deaf ears.

"You guys are just gonna ignore me?" – Still no answer.

Everyone stood up and went in the direction of the dining hall for their late breakfast.

Lin Huiying just shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes while following them.

The elders had already taken their breakfast and left. Because Lin Fengmian had sent them the message explaining that they were having a sibling meeting and couldn't join them.

The elders laughed and left them alone to their antics.

The siblings had decided to just go shopping, stroll, and eat. So, they dressed and went out in a group while talking and laughing with each other. Their servants followed them in tow.

The group was not wearing luxury items or flaunting their wealth in any way possible. But their good looks were enough to attract the attention of passerby.

People recognized them and 'discreetly' whispered to each other while looking at them.

They went to different stalls and shops. Lin Huiying looked at the interesting things sold in this era. Since she was beautiful and looked amiable, the shopkeepers or ladies would try to make small talk with her.

She replied to them with a smile and in turn asked a few questions too which made the other person more excited to have a conversation.

Her brothers had to excuse her from them.

"You are talking a lot. Aren't you tired? What's gotten into you these days?" Lin Fengmian questioned his sister after rescuing her from the lady telling stories about her cloth store.

"It's nice talking to all kinds of people. You can just learn something new from them." Lin Huiying shrugged and looked at the displayed robes.

She had spent half of her life in the USA, where people smile and greet even strangers. And she liked that. She was used to it.

Above all, she knew how one small conversation can sometimes help others or make them happy. So, if she could just smile and greet a simple 'Good Afternoon' to a passerby, then why not? It makes her smile too.

And her personality had always been confident and exciting type. So, she was not a person to shy away from meeting new people, talking about daily life, complementing them, or asking if they had a bad day.

There had been times when she had taken Uber and talked about a bunch of different stuff like stereotypes and racism with a white dude in a ride of 15 minutes.

Lin Huiying and Lin Dan would be the most cheerful ones in the group. So, they greeted people – old and children.

"Big Sister, you are really pretty. These flowers would look really good on you. Would you like to buy them?" A small girl who was selling different kinds of flowers asked Lin Huiying while she was laughing with Lin Jiang and were about to enter a restaurant.

"Aww! Thank you. You yourself are quite pretty." Lin Huiying caressed the little girl's head softly and gave her a happy smile.

The little girl was surprised at such a positive treatment with a head pat. She smiled widely and looked at Lin Huiying expectantly.

"What is your name and how old are you? Do you sell these flowers every day?" Lin Huiying lowered her body and sat on one knee in front of the little girl without thinking about the dust on the ground. (Since it was a good road in the capital city, she didn't mind much.)

"I am Xiao Ju and I am eight years old. I sell flowers here daily to earn money which will help my mother." The little girl said. She looked poor but was not a beggar. She was a hard worker compared to the people who refuse to work even though their whole body was intact and helplessly beg for money.

"Here take this. Your flowers are as beautiful as yours. I am going to buy them all." Lin Huiying bought all her flowers. They were indeed beautiful. And occasionally buying flowers for yourself can make you quite happy.

"REALLY?" Xiao Ju was shocked. But then her eyebrows frowned a tiny bit and she timidly said, "If you are doing this out of pity, then please don't."

"Ha?" Lin Huiying was caught off guard while she was admiring the flowers in her hand.
