Yangui lake

That night I once again decided not to cultivate and headed to bed. When I awoke it was 6 am showing that my body has gotten used to waking up at 6 am in which I decided to go outside and practice my martial arts before taking a shower and getting ready.

I took a shower and dressed casually wearing a black Nike tracksuit and decided to make pills while I waited for Xu Ao to pick me up as he asked me to spar with master Gu although I knew that if I was to beat master Gu he would invite me to the tournament and was my plan instead of going there solo.

*Beep*

'Seems he arrived.' I thought as I headed out of my house and entered his car which he and master Gu both sat in.

"Did you enjoy last night?" I asked Xu Ao.

"Very much so especially since I got to see my daughter again and meet a young man like yourself." He joyfully replied.

We headed to a secluded bridge which his guards patrolled with a lake the opposite side, "Sorry but there will be some company before you begin." He said staring off into the distance.

'I know exactly who would arrive, oh speak of the devil'

"Uncle Xu, why did you wish to see me?" Chen Fan said as he walked closer to us.

"Look over there what can you see? Xu Ao replied as he continued to stare into the distance.

"The vast Yangui lake." Chen Fan simply replied.

"Yes, vast and boundless making people feel small. Yet it is a small lake in all of china." He replied to Chen Fan as he turned towards him.

"What do you mean uncle Xu?" Chen Fan questioned.

"It's just like you outstanding in Chuzhou but negligible as dust in all of China." He replied with cold eyes. He continued to say "I've made it clear, stay away from Feifei, you're not qualified to marry her."

"What type of person is qualified?" Chen Fan asked.

"Someone with background and capabilities." He responded and continued to say "I think you are neither along with the arrogance that blinds you."

"But I have every reason to be arrogant." Chen Fan replied.

"What because of your martial arts or family. My influence is beyond your imagination." Xu Ao stated.

"But they can easily be destroyed, uncle Xu." Chen Fan replied.

"Easily destroyed? You are too naive. Come back to me when you figure it out." He replied as he gestured for his guards to escort him out.

"Wait, Uncle Xu. Let him watch the spar it will be educational." I intervened.

"hmmmm...." Xu Ao pondered for a few moments.

"Chen Fan come sit here." I say before Xu Ao could answer which Chen Fan accepted my invitation and took a seat on one of the benches.

"Ok go over there, we set up an arena." Xu Ao said pointing to a platform beside us.

I walked over to see master Gu already prepared to fight.

"Master Gu, please enlighten me." I reply as a small smirk formed on my face after we bowed to one another.

"ready, FIGHT!" One of Xu Ao's bodyguards announced as master Gu leaped towards me.

'Damn, they call these people masters but they're so slow.' I thought as I narrowly dodge the punch making my dodge untraceable by anyone here.

I then move my arm back and hit master Gu in the back sending him flying off the arena and hitting a few trees on the opposite side of the lake.

"Is that it?" I asked turning to Xu Ao for an answer to see that this action surprised everyone with their jaws dropped along with Chen Fan's eyes narrowed as he could not see a single move I had done.

"Simply brilliant!" Xu Ao shouted in surprise as he stood up from where he sat.

"You speak too kindly uncle Xu, I simply used a little physical force." I replied.

"Hahahah~ Chen Fan this is someone with both capabilities and background!" Xu Ao said turning to Chen Fan.

A/N: Background as in from a hidden martial sect although it's fake they don't know that.

"Chen Fan, I hope we can spar one day." I said with a wink as Chen Fan begins to walk away absent-minded.

"Anyway, Feilong would you like to participate in a martial tournament? From what I've seen you more than qualify to participate and this will allow you to build connections." Xu Ao proposes.

"Of course, also can I see master Gu for a second?" I asked.

"Of course." Xu Ao said as he realized he forgot about master Gu as he signaled for them to bring master Gu.

"No need." Master Gu replied as he came forward.

"Wha-" was all Xu Ao could get out of his mouth.

"Thank you for showing mercy." Master Gu said as he bowed to me.

"haahah~ of course, how could I hurt an elder." I replied with a light chuckle. I continued and said, "Uncle Xu, you see I shielded master Gu in qi to protect him but the attack was purely physical."

"Amazing." was all Xu Ao could get out.

"it truly was. Considering your age I'm not surprised if you could surpass Ye Nantian." Master Gu added.

"You flatter me too much. However what time is the martial tournament you mentioned?" I asked.

"Oh, that's today, lets go if you have nothing else to do that is?" Xu Ao replied with his own question.

"Nope, I'm free so let's go." I said as we headed for the car.

We sat down and Xu Ao asked "I heard Xing Zhong got himself an expert?"

"Yes, master Xu. He spread the word he was going to dominate Jiangbei in this match the driver replied.

"Master Gu I will have to trouble you," Xu Ao said turning to master Gu.

"Rest assured master Xu." Master Gu replied.

"You can ask me too you know." I added.

"How could I ask someone I see as a potential partner to fight in a match where people could die." He responded.

"I'm flattered you see me that way however, do you really think I will have trouble?" I asked.

"He does have a point master Xu." Master Gu intervened.

"Ok, then if you really feel that way if master Gu is to lose and agrees that you can handle it I will agree although it's not like I have the right to stop you anyway." He replied.

"haha~ ok I agree to that!" I responded as I was getting pumped that I would see one of the actual fights that got me a little hype in the manhua in real life!

A/N: Smaller chapter compared to my latest ones but still 1000+ so I'm happy with it.

The next chapter going to be the martial tournament of Jiangbei and will probably have a lot of dialogue from the manhua in it or I may just skip them with little paragraphs, who knows. Hope you enjoyed this!
