Crossing Paths

The flame wyvern noticed that its breath attacks had no effect on him. So it took a risky move of going close to him.

By far, the only moved that worked against him was the wings. The wyvern went for a gliding attack, while also spamming him with its breath.

It forced him to maintain his [Cloak of Lightning]. There were already a lot of magic being casted altogether, and it caused a huge toll on him.

Still, it doesn't matter. Ren is planning to end it.

Ren keeps dodging the wyvern's gliding attack. While doing the action, the wyvern was being cautious of his bow and arrow, as it is the only weapon that could pose a threat to it.

The ball of lightning that has been finished charging, although the wyvern knew that it couldn't hit itself, but the wyvern still flew higher in the sky.

The wyvern knew that Ren wouldn't last long, so it decided to wait, still spamming with its breath attacks.

"It's over... [Lightning Bullet]" When the ball of lightning was finished, one of Ren's hand became free. It then formed to a gun sign, shooting bullets made of lightning.

The bullets caused the wyvern to fly frantically. As the accuracy and the lighting bullets per seconds was too tough to dodge.

"[Binding]." Ren saw an opportunity as the wyvern was in disarray. He then used his binding skill to force the wyvern to a corner.

The wyvern's action was lead by him, when the wyvern noticed his binding, it was forced to dodge by turning back, as it couldn't dodge in any other sides because it will be hit by the lightning bullets.

The binding may have been evaded, however due to the predicted path. The arrow was released from the bow.

It was pretty accurate. The arrow pierced the wyvern's body, but it was still not enough to end its life.

The wyvern also didn't dare to fall, especially with him holding the ball of lightning. Enduring the wound, the wyvern tried to escape.

"Like I said, it's over." Ren teleported above the wounded wyvern, he struck it with the ball of charged lightning on his hand.

Like a cannonball, the wyvern dropped to the ground.

Ren was too exhausted, and he also fell from the sky. If he was still at his best state, he could protect himself when landing, but at the current moment, he didn't have the energy to do that.

As he was falling, there was no panic reflected on his eyes. He was as calm as the floating water, so tranquil.

Because Ren knew, he knew that a certain woman wouldn't let him get hurt.

"Stupid!" Freya mumbled before flying high to catch him.

"You're here..." Ren muttered before losing consciousness.

"Good job." Freya smiled, patted his head.

...

Around an hour later, Ren gained his consciousness.

Opening his eyes, what he first saw was two twin peaks with a deep ravine. Well, it's Freya's towering breasts.

"Woke up?" Freya noticed.

"Yeah." Ren said trying to get up.

"Don't. You still need to rest for a while." Freya stopped him, bringing his head back to lay in comfort on her lap.

"I'm quite okay, though. But, alright, I'll treat this as my reward." Ren didn't resist.

"Fufu, I didn't think you could kill that wyvern. I have to say, you went beyond my expectations." Freya chuckled.

"...You forgave me, now?" Ren asked with a smile, her usual self came back after all.

"I just realized that there was no need for me to get angry. It's the servant's job to follow the master."

"Servant? But aren't you my woman?"

"My master, please don't joke with me."

"I'm serious."

"Huh? What did you say? I can't hear you."

"I said, I'm serious."

"I still can't hear you."

"Fuck! You're pretending, you want to avoid the answer."

"Eh... I'm not listening, can the master repeat that again?"

"Sigh. Okay, fine. I'm still a kid now, anyway. I'll change your mind later.

"Good!"

"You are listening after all."

"Fufu, what did you say, master?"

...

Ren kept on fighting monster beasts, since this was all to heighten his combat experience. He didn't only fought with fire monster beasts, but also monster beasts of the other elements.

On the fifth month.

"Finished?" Ren asked while drinking tea on his room.

"Yes." Freya answered with a smile, she just came back after completing Ren's order.

"Let me see." Ren finished his tea in one gulp, then stood up.

"Here." Freya waved her hand, and thousands of flame cores appeared in the room.

Ren gave her the order to get as many flame cores as possible.

"So many... with this much, I think I could last at that place. Let's go out, we're going to the city." Ren's eyes brightened.

"Where's my reward? I worked so hard for it." Freya playfully said.

"Then, what do you want? I can give you everything." Ren smiled, he knew she was teasing him.

"Fufu... I—W-A-N-T Y-O-U." Freya chuckled and continued her teasing.

"Okay, then I'm yours? You want my body? I'm afraid you need to wait for a couple of years." Ren nodded, but inwardly, although he knew she was teasing him, but the temptation is still hard to resist.

"Humph, no fun." Freya rolled her eyes, she didn't get the reaction she wanted.

"Well, let's go. You can claim your reward anytime." Ren hugged her. Well, he needs to hold her tight when flying after all.

"I dont want it." Freya snorted, hugging him back.

...

Ren and Freya arrived at the city.

"Where are we going?"

"We need to find a refiner."

"Oh, I see."

After a couple of minutes they found a rundown place.

"Here?" Freya was a bit skeptical, looking at the suspicious house.

"Yeah, this should be the one I'm looking for, at least. Ren nodded. In the game, the refiners are not really important. But his knowledge was very detailed.

This rundown place although looks inconspicuous, but one of the best refiner in the city lives here.

"That old man stopped if I remember correctly, persuading him to make a lot of fire charms in just a month will be a bit difficult." Ren mumbled before knocking.

"What do you want?" The door was opened by an old man with a long beard, looking at Ren warily.

"I'm going to be direct. I want you to refine a lot of fire charms for me, you can think of what you want in return."

The old man frowned before sighing. "Okay, you can come in first."

'He accepted? Easier than I thought.' Ren and Freya followed the old man inside.

"The flame cores, where is it?" The old man asked.

"Oh, here it is." Freya waved her hand and the thousands of flame cores appeared again.

The old man look at the flame cores with a weird expression.

"You don't seem to be surprised?" Ren asked, if one suddenly sees this many flame cores, one would definitely be surprised. Strangely, the old man's reaction is different.

"I... Sigh. Someone requested the same thing just a while ago." The old man said with a defeated smile.

"Really?" Ren got puzzled, someone also wanted to make a fire charm with this amount. It's quite weird.

"Old man, is it done already?" A sweet and childlike voice sounded as the door opened.

"Speaking of which, she is here." The old man said.

"Who?" Ren wondered, turning his head to look back.
