City: Kaon
[69 days after Megatron's appearance]
[What the hell, now I have to do this damn spying because of the useless ones who are incapable of making the slightest effort to be discreet and not attack the Decepticons.] Starscream thought as he walked through the large crowd of bots who went on with their pathetic lives while others showed more hostility just because they wore Decepticon insignia.
Cunning and self-centered, Starscream was a criminal in the Crystal City Mafia, a handyman for the organization's boss, something he deeply hated. He felt no loyalty to the Mafia, he just wanted to live an easy life without worrying about how much he was hurting people's lives.
He was used to having to be the smartest to triumph over others, sometimes by doing dirty work or leaking information. Whatever the means, if it was possible to cheat without risking one's life unnecessarily, it was the most logical option.
He didn't stand out much other than being a flying bot, he had a thin body as if he was malnourished, despite his low brute strength compared to other Cybertronians, his greatest weapon was his mind and his exceptional aerial combat skills, something he was particularly proud of.
His red eyes observed the Decepticon insignia crudely painted on a wall; it was a very amateurish and rushed job, but it showed well how many bots seemed fanatical with the indirect idea of overthrowing the government.
"Humph... they're just idiotic fanatics." Starscream whispered, not stupid enough to say such a thing out loud, not wanting to be lynched alive.
He continued on his way, wondering how he could infiltrate the Decepticons and get a good position to gain access to confidential information. However, with the city more buzzing than usual, he didn't even notice that he was being watched by Laserbeak, who was flying at a safe distance so as not to draw any more attention than necessary.
Soundwave's small personal Minicon transmitted live what his eyes saw to his partner, who in turn transmitted what Laserbeak's eyes saw, thanks to his face being a display-like structure, to Megatron, who was organizing his plans on a holographic table with hundreds of files.
"Very well, Soundwave, it appears they did indeed send Starscream to infiltrate my army." Megatron commented, not even impressed by the predictable attitude of one of the Mafia leaders. "Send Barricade to interrogate him, we will update the information on how organized crime operates in Crystal City so we can acquire the famous weapons and military equipment smuggled from there."
Megatron just watched as Soundwave nodded silently, watching as he used his robotic tentacles to perform other tasks at the same time, practically doing the work of an entire team all by himself. His attention was drawn to a camera that showed the Constructicons working beneath the old warehouse of ancient ships, now that he had practically two ships in his possession, ready to go. All that remained was to prepare his chosen subordinates, who would have to be trained to operate the navigational systems and cannons.
He couldn't deny that the Constructicons were impressive and efficient, a team capable of erecting an entire building in a matter of days. This level of technology, dedicated to military use as he planned, accelerated his plans considerably, with more than enough power to destroy an entire city if necessary. He smiled inwardly, knowing that the fate of Cybertron was clearly in his hands, and with the support of a significant portion of the population, all he had to do was create the perfect stage to deliver an ultimatum to the government and demand the right to become the next Prime.
[My plan is going as planned, the mafia organizations have already realized that Kaon is under my control, even if it is not officially recognized by the government, the people recognize me as the legitimate ruler.] Megatron thought, remembering how his Decepticons were now responsible for taking appropriate action against anyone who was not a Decepticon. However, this order of his ended up making the tensions against the High Guard more apparent, causing a drop in the city's economy, but it is only a setback that will be resolved in time.
Megatron looked back at the camera, watching the construction of his main weapons of war. Part of him was a little anxious for the inevitable battle, but another part remembered his last discussion with Orion, that he could win the High Council without a fight, something unrealistic, but he didn't deny the possibility. He quickly dismissed that last thought, he couldn't be optimistic about a peaceful takeover, he knew he had to arm himself as best he could for when the High Council gave the order for the Autobots to attack.
[Democracy fails when the rigid rules used to control society are not enforced on those who created them. The world is changing rapidly, but it is I who will turn the wheels of destiny.]
