Akainu grinned, envisioning the scene of Sabo being overwhelmed by numerous vice admirals and ultimately perishing. To the Revolutionary Army, this would be an unbearable and devastating blow.
"What a waste, aligning yourself with the wrong leader!" Akainu shouted, looking up at the powerful Lugia hovering above. In his mind, a Pokémon of such immense strength should serve the World Government and the navy. Only then could the world be ruled by absolute order and justice.
Akainu was the epitome of a resolute soldier, so committed to his cause that he would dedicate everything to the faction he served. Sadly, his luck seemed consistently poor. In both the original timeline and the present, he found himself betrayed more often than supported.
Lugia, busy dodging the fiery magma, appeared puzzled. Why was this human so confident, as if victory was assured before the battle had even begun?
"Strange humans," Lugia thought, silently critiquing. With a quick maneuver, it turned to assess the situation behind. Six vice admirals had encircled Sabo, while a large contingent of rear admirals and commodores reached the coastline of the Kingdom of Goa. The battlefield was divided, with no one to interfere in its confrontation with Akainu.
"Now, I can finally unleash my full power!" Lugia's expression grew excited. It took a deep breath and exhaled a vast expanse of white mist into the sky. This icy mist, brimming with freezing energy, rapidly enveloped the entire area where Lugia and Akainu were locked in combat. The molten rock projectiles Akainu had launched froze mid-air upon contact with the mist, transforming into ordinary stones and plummeting into the ocean. The temperature around them dropped drastically, and the entire battlefield was soon shrouded in a dense, obscuring fog.
On the glacier, the vice admirals had surrounded Sabo, the successor of the Revolutionary Army, leaving him no room for escape.
"Resistance is futile, Revolutionary Army!" one of the vice admirals shouted. "Even with Pokémon from another world, you can't stand against the might of the World Government and the Navy!"
A bright slash cleaved through the air, splitting the ice in its path. Vice Admiral Mole, brandishing his sword, stared intensely, his face chiseled with determination.
"Surrender?" Sabo mused, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. As the slashes hurtled toward him, Sabo's smile widened. He pushed down his black top hat, and dark energy enveloped his arms like armor.
"Why don't we discuss that after you've defeated us?" Sabo taunted, swinging his arms with force. A powerful gust of wind erupted, morphing into a pair of colossal dragon claws that shredded the incoming attack.
Vice Admiral Mole tightened his grip on his sword, watching in disbelief as his attack was easily neutralized. He realized that Sabo's strength surpassed his own, despite his years of mastering the sword. Yet, he found solace in knowing he had comrades by his side.
"Finger Pistol!" Vice Admiral Dalmatia, donning a dalmatian-themed hat, approached stealthily from behind Sabo. While Sabo was distracted, Dalmatian unleashed his attack, his fingers hardening into spear-like weapons and lunging at Sabo's back.
A glint of satisfaction sparkled in Mole's eyes, anticipating Sabo's downfall. However, a sudden red flash caught everyone's attention. A Pokémon with protruding fangs materialized behind Sabo, countering Dalmatia's sneak attack with a wide-open mouth.
[TL/n: The 1st evolution of Axerus.]
The Pokémon, known as Fraxure, let out a fierce cry. "Gahhh!" it roared. "What!?" Dalmatian's expression froze in disbelief as Fraxure intercepted his attack. But it was too late to pull back. The Fraxure, poised and ready, unleashed a dark energy from its jaws, sinking its fangs into Dalmatian's hand.
Dalmatian's face contorted in pain as he let out a blood-curdling scream. He flung Fraxure away with all his might and retreated, his legs shaking.
"What... what's happening?" The other marines, poised to strike, halted in their tracks, bewildered by Dalmatian's reaction.
Dalmatian, trembling and pointing at Fraxure, stammered, "I... I don't know." Despite his attempts to steady himself, he couldn't stop shaking, his eyes wide with fear.
The other vice admirals frowned, puzzled. They knew it wasn't merely the pain of the bite causing Dalmatian's reaction. As seasoned officers, they could withstand severe injuries. The issue lay with this Pokémon.
Indeed, Fraxure's move, infused with dark energy, had induced a fear effect in Dalmatian, making him cower.
Sabo turned to Fraxure, a smile on his face as he patted its head. "This is my new partner, Fraxure. Allow me to introduce you."
"A new partner?" The vice admirals were stunned, their eyes wide with surprise.
"Another Pokémon?" they murmured among themselves, shocked.
"What has the Revolutionary Army traded to acquire so many powerful Pokémon?" they wondered, glancing back at the dense mist.
Although the fog obscured their view, the sounds of clashing and bursts of heat made the situation clear. The battle between Lugia and Akainu was beyond their ability to intervene. A bird Pokémon with freezing powers rivaling Admiral Aokiji's, a creature capable of battling a navy admiral, and a Pokémon that could instil fear in vice admirals… was the dimensional trade really that powerful?
As the vice admirals pondered the implications, Sabo capitalized on their distraction. High above, Articuno, the Pokémon with ice powers, circled, watching the scene unfold. Sabo, with a confident smile, addressed the vice admirals:
"Forgive me, but it seems the outcome of this war is already decided."
Meanwhile, aware that their own strength was insufficient even if they have admiral Akainu and vice admirals, the naval officers raced towards the Kingdom of Goa's coastline. Their feet touched solid ground, and their anxiety eased.
"Quickly! While the Revolutionary Army's main forces are occupied, we must complete our mission!" a rear admiral commanded, brandishing a battle axe. Although not as formidable as a vice admiral, he was still a significant force in the navy. Coupled with their numbers, they could easily overpower the average Revolutionary Army soldier.
Yet, as the hundred-plus naval officers prepared to enter the Kingdom of Goa, a gentle voice halted them.
"Sorry, everyone," Koala said softly, stepping in front of the navy with a charming smile. "This path is blocked."
Nami, returning from her mission, descended gracefully, landing behind the marines. A mischievous glint in her eyes, she licked her lips and said with a wicked grin, "Compared to the battlefield out there, perhaps this place is the true nightmare for you."
Nami and Koala exchanged knowing smiles, each retrieving a Poké Ball from their pockets and throwing them into the air.
"Come forth, Moltres! Let the world feel your fiery wrath!"
"Zapdos, it's your turn! Unleash your electric might!"
The sky darkened ominously, heralding the arrival of powerful enemy for the marines!
