Pressure

After the white glow disappeared, he realized that he was in a hall.

He was inside the hall with hundreds of people beside him. Once he looked at them, he realized they all were covered in blood, just like him.

Shocked expressions were on some people's faces still not wanting to believe they were in a tower where they could die anytime like a wild jungle. Anger filled some people's hearts not wanting to part with the peaceful life they had been on without their choice at all.

Some were sad, crying since they had been separated from their family and friends. And Another part were scared since they might die anytime without the power to protect themselves.

And there were a small part that was happy and excited to climb the tower. All of them were fighting maniacs who wanted to meet strong enemies and defeat them or Chunibyo just like Tyler…

Among the fighting maniacs, most of them were already professional fighters that trained and joined the competitions with their fists, kicks, or weapons such as swords, spears, halberds, bows, axe, sabers, and daggers though the said weapons were rather unpopular in their old world.

And rest of them was chunibyos and street fighters who would do anything to defeat the enemy. Rules were not part of their life, as nothing was forbidden in a street fight, as such they could be even said to be somewhat better at fighting in real combat compared to professional trainers.

They might not be as skilled as them but they had much more experience in a fight without any rules at all.

And the rest of them were Chunibyos like Tyler, who read the novels every day dreaming of shattering the mountains with a single fist or splitting the mountains and oceans in half just with a single swing of their sword. Or penetrating the Earth's core with just a single arrow.

Though these chunibyos were different from common chunibyos like Tyler who only read the novels and didn't train how to use his body as a weapon or with weapons. These chunibyos wanted that strength so much that they came prepared. Prepared that they would go to meet with truck-Kun as a strong, experienced, and skilled!

On the other hand, Tyler felt happy since he got bored of that boring life. He was not eager to split the mountains or become immortal but he was eager to get out of that boring life. As such he wore a wide grin on his face.

While he was continuing his thoughts, a loud sound echoed. Making him aware of the platform in front of them.

''Ehem! Give attention will ya?''

Hearing that deep and loud voice awakened them from their thoughts, and everybody could see a man on top of the platform.

On top of the platform stood a man at the height of 183 cm tall. He had curly short blonde hair, white skin, a sharp jawline, and sharp eyebrows. He was muscular, his sleek muscles were standing out even from the loose white t-shirt and military green short pants. And he had a long sword tied to his waist.

''I welcome you to Floor 1 of Tower, Blessed. I am one of the rankers of Tower, Humbert Sigmund! One of the test directors of this floor.''

''Ranker? What is that?''

Hearing Humbert introduces himself as a ranker of the tower, people begin to ask questions. Hearing that he smiled with his eyes closed.

''It's the people who reached the top of the tower, make contract with the administrator, and receive the privilege of not aging or getting weaker anymore, physical and supernatural power's being strengthened, and resistance increases to supernatural powers and more. Though they are monsters than people.''

''There are also Elite Rankers who can destroy armies by themselves, as well as the Transcendent rankers whose powers are unimaginable by ordinary people. Transcendent rankers are so rare that there are barely a thousand of them.''

''It's impossible for Blessed Climbers to fight with Blessed Rankers. Winning against a ranker can't be done by numbers alone. Though there are people who managed to defeat a ranker as a climber, their numbers are fewer than 5, and all of them are the strongest among transcendent rankers.''

''Well, since I gave a simple introduction on rankers why do not we make a simple test?''

''Let's begin, shall we?'' he smiled widely.

Just as he said that a tremendous presence began to leak out from his body. Pushing out all the people in the hall to the back.

As they were thrown back from his pressure, worry couldn't help but appear on their faces, not knowing what is the test he talked about. Though chunibyos couldn't help but think 'Is that time for me to shine and receive the guidance of an old master?'. Seeing these expressions, Humbert put a teasing smile on his face as he began to explain.

''There are 2 kinds of talents, one is a measurement of how fast you are progressing, and willpower is the most important. No matter how fast you progress, if your will is breaking down, your skills are getting sloppy, you lose your calm in front of a powerful enemy, you are going to die sooner than you thought.''

''You might be a genius, but as a Ranker who saw millions of Blessed, I saw many talented people die due to their weak willpower. 'It seems like there will be a new transcendent ranker soon.' Humbert thought.
