Searching For A Weapon Part 2

As Kori left the guild, she spotted a familiar figure walking towards her. "Isn't that…." The young girl was not someone who was easily forgettable. Her attire really stuck out amongst the crowd. After all, white hair with a red bow, red eyes, with a white shirt, and red pants to match. It was all a bit eye catching compared to the usual black, grays, and browns you would normally see. Sometimes with a bit of green mixed in, but here was something you do not see normally.

Since she had nothing to do anyway, Kori decided to call out to the little girl and see what she was up to. "Little one!"

"Hmmm? Ice Princess?" Myu saw the blue haired girl walking over to her. "Can I help you?" Myu was a little worried that the young woman would ask for her gold coin back. If she did, she would be out of money to buy a weapon.

"You can just call me Kori. Ummm... Your name?" Kori asked. She wanted to make sure to get this girl's name this time.

"It's Myu. It's a pleasure to meet you, Kori." Myu greeted Kori with a smile.

"Yes, it is." Kori smiled back as she asked: "What are you up to? Going to the tower?"

"No, I was planning to use the gold you gave me to get a weapon. As you can see, I am quite lacking. While I do have my flames, I do not have a weapon. I wanted to get something that I could use in case I run into a monster that is immune to my flames." Myu replied. She hoped that Kori could recommend a place.

"Mmm…. Well, It depends on the weapon... Oh, I know! There is a testing facility in the Gales Expanse guild. We can head over there. They happen to be on good terms with my guild. Do you want to go there? It will let you check out all the different weapons." Kori knew her own guild had such a place too, but she did not wish to go back and see Dio.

"Alright!" Myu was not going to pass up such a great opportunity. Being able to test out each weapon would allow her to really decide on what feels right for her.

Myu and Kori walked down the street, making their way towards Gales Expanse, which was not too far away, about five minutes from where they started off from. When they arrived, Kori led Myu inside to a large tavern looking area. It resembled the inn she was staying at but much bigger. Rows of long tables with bench seating. A counter for ordering food and another counter for dealing with requests and missions that the guild would receive. Of course, for a top guild, they would only get material missions for the top floors.

"Oh? If it isn't Kori. What brings you over here?" An older man with a long beard and mustache asked. He looked quite rough, but his voice was actually quite high, and from what Myu could tell, it seemed he wore makeup as well. So the contrast of his big muscular body, along with the armor he wore mixed with the makeup, made for one hell of a style.

"Old Mo! Long time no see. I thought you would never leave the tenth floor." Kori smiled as she greeted the man. She called him Old Mo since it was his nickname, but he was only in his mid thirties. But due to his looks, he did look much older than he was.

"Ahahaha! Well, I had too much loot, so I had to come back and sell it. I will return once I finish up. Who is the twerp behind you?" Old Mo asked.

"This twerp is my new friend. So be nice." Kori chided. Old Mo chuckled and waved at Myu.

"Nice to meet you, twerp!" Old Mo gave a teasing grin, but Myu could carelessly. She only gave a forced smile as she looked around. Not really giving the old man much attention. "Ah! I got ignored, awe well… So why are you here?" Old Mo asked, turning his attention back to his first question.

"I am here to use your testing room. I can't go to my guild due to Dio being a dick. And Myu here is just starting out and does not know which weapon suits her yet, so I am helping her out." Kori replied.

"Haha. You would think that bastard would give up by now..." Old Mo shook his head and looked back over at Myu. "Twerp, listen to the Ice Princess here. She knows her stuff. Make sure you get a weapon that suits you well, or else it will be hard to choose one later on if you start moving up the floors. Anyway, I need to get going. Just ask Fina to let you in. We can't refuse a request from the one and only Ice Princess." Old Mo seemed to like to tease everyone as he went to pat Myu on the head as he passed by her, but when his hand got close to her head, his hand stopped mid air and retracted. He turned a curious gaze to the girl but oddly did not see anything off about her. But when he looked at his hand, it was bright red and still felt hot. "A strange one…."

Kori shook her head and rolled her eyes at Old Mo's retreating back. "Ignore him. He teases everyone. It seems to be the only way he can entertain himself. But all in all, he is a good guy. Come, let's go speak with Fina. She will let us into the testing area."

Myu nodded and followed Kori as they walked over to the mission counter. Behind it was a young woman around Kori's age sitting there reading a book. She looked up and smiled brightly at Kori. "Kori! You haven't stopped in for so long. I was starting to think you forgot about me!"

"Fina, I just saw you yesterday at the market. Why are you making a fuss?" Kori sighed. She wondered if today was a day that everyone wished to make a scene.
