Half-past the appropriate time, Melissa rushed out of her room, running to the elevator. One thing she hates about elevators is waiting for them to reach her flat before she would meet another stranger.
Her head pounding, the alcohol she took with the girls last night did no good to her. It was making her headache like warriors were fighting in her head. At first, she wasn't so good at drinking alcohol but since she had been on watch all through her life, not to have 'fun', not to drink alcohol more than a shot, not to have a boyfriend, not even to keep friends at all.
There was no one to wake her, disturb her to leave the house on time, or someone to yell at her about random things. She missed that noise, that feeling of having someone to yell at, someone to hate and love at the same time.
After her stepdad had dropped her off at her apartment a few days ago, she couldn't help but feel guilty and pain. She still didn't know if she could try her best to love her stepfather like how her heart had been telling her to do.
'Follow your head, not your head' she would say.
No wonder Celine Dion said she will never let her heart control her head.
Almost three days have past and they haven't set her eyes on Karen. She sighs, watching the time of the elevator. What if Karen never comes back? Or what if Karen never leaves there! What if something bad had happened?
Should she be relieved or concerned?
Her phone rang out.
"Hey, molly".
"Her baby girl" molly squeak from the other end of the phone "Where are you?".
"I'm so sorry, I woke up late" she rubbed her forehead. "I think I have to quit drinking, it's doing me no good. My head hurts".
"You will be fine, just forget the ache, you will get used to it".
"Seriously?!"
Melissa yelled as the elevator door opened reviewing an attractive-looking man, she didn't even know if was addressing her friend or the man.
"Hi?". The man waved.
She waved back, a fake smile plaster on her face.
"Don't be such a baby, Melissa". Molly said, "You ask us not to come to pick you up so you could wake up late".
"Do you care to be my alarm? Because I don't mind".
In the end, Melissa forced her phone into her pocket. With another facial smile, she nodded, looking at the man.
Weird!.
"You are late! Melissa". Mr. Lopez Her tutor yelled, "Hop in Cinderella, don't keep the prince-".
"-waiting!" Melissa mentally completed. In a few weeks, she had become so used to the phase.
She kicked off her shoes, she rushed in to join the dance section. Following the slow melody, she stood on her toes, moved her body around like smoke been pushed by the wind.
Jumping into Jake her partner's arm, being too close to him made her skin crawl as he remind her of everything about Williams.
His broad chest, his strong arms, his jet black hair even almost the same eyes.
Well, gest not all!
she was sure she couldn't focus, all she was staring at was his lips. It made her remember when Williams kissed her days ago, she suddenly Became wet.
Closing her eyes, she moved away from Jake, slightly, to avoid being noticed.
"Let it flow Melissa! You look like you are angry to let your body move like you are in love" Lopez yelled.
Someone did catch her, how was she thinking she would get through it. She looked into Jake's eyes trying to turn them into a cool display of the sunset, too bad she fail.
Jake's charming eyes were making her feel guilty, She looked away immediately. The fresh current of guilt flowed through her, she felt bad.
What would Molly do if she ever find out about what she had been developing for the enemy? Too strange, when Molly kisses or touches her, she felt love, wild thoughts flow as the butterflies move inside her stomach.
But when Williams kissed her, she felt different, like he filled something that had been missing in her.
"You are stepping on me, Melissa" Jake whispered still dancing.
Her cheeks blushed in embarrassment, she muttered apologizes before offering a cute smile.
"Danielle let your body lead you. Kannan! Hold your partner like that" Mr. Lopez corrected "Melissa, imagine you love Jake, now let him lead you".
"Shall we?". Jake took her hand, still dancing.
Just as soon as she cleared her mind, her body clashed against Jake's, with her cute smile she moved away from him, spinning, her left hand above her head.
Jake pulled her back, leading the dance. His left hand at the small of her back, holding her firmly in place as she raised her right leg up, her back bent with Jake's arm under, her red hair touching the floor.
With the most approving smile from Mr. Lopez the music stopped, he walked up to Melissa. His walking stick makes pop sounds as they meet the floor following his every step.
"Well done" his wrinkled face lifted into a pleasant smile "Nice attempts, keep it up and be early next time".
With a pleasant smile too, she muttered 'thank you.
Casting a sweet look at Jake she whispered.
"You will make a great teacher".
"Anytime red hair" he walked away with a smile "You are welcome".
Sam and Leah had texted their friends early that morning, that they won't make it to school. Getting too drunk and having someone to take you to bed means a lot to them.
They had to spend the night in a hotel, if they try to drive home, it was certain they would kill somebody.
Either themselves, random by-passers, or Sam's precious car 'grille.
While driving home, Melissa would steal several glances at Molly, her straight black and white natural hair neatly pack.
The fulfilled smile on Molly's face could tell she was extremely happy.
"What did you buy new". Melissa asked.
"Nothing"
That's wasn't what Melissa was expecting, she was expecting something exciting like, I brought a new phone or went for shopping.
She gave Molly a funny look, a lips and nose twisted with an eyebrow crooked.
"Don't give me that look babe, i just want to take you to my apartments". Molly said.
Melissa's excited face form wrinkles as she frowned. The last thing she wanted to do is going anywhere that is apparently not her place.
"You know i have online lectures tomorrow" she played with her fingers, she couldn't stand the sight of Molly's lovely eyes.
"I know i say you will stay for some day when you come to my place but i can't force you baby, i respect you wishes alot".
Melissa's cheeks blushed, she looked away hiding her face. No one had ever say something like that to her and she felt moved. When she finally looked into Molly's eyes she saw pure truth.
In one way or the other, Molly had been a great impact on her 'girlfriend'. She made sure Melissa dresa well, gets every flavor of ice cream, take her to places meant for rich people and made her never to hide her beautiful hair again.
"Thanks Molly" Melissa smiled "I will feel guilty, get sleepless nights and bad dreams if i don't go to your place".
Molly smiled, turning the car into her neighborhood. Unlike Melissa's own it was too clean and peaceful. If a person happen to wake up from coma in one of the streets he could imagine he made heaven.
"I won't tell anyone where i come from" Melissa grinned her eyes wide open as her fingers snapped over Molly's face "This place is paradise. I swear, no one will know where i leave".
"Too late i told them".
"You are kidding, right?".
"I'm not ashamed of you babe" Molly smiled as park the car in the garage of the house "This is my house, my father gave it to me as my birthday gift".
Melissa's mouth fell open, she walked out of the car gently like if she walk well the ground would break. The smile on her face explained her the unspoken.
"Like what you see?". Molly pulled Melissa into the house "we won't be able to eat my meal if you keep on walking like this".
The apartment was very large, if measured it would be then times bigger that her own. She bounced on the sofa, as a satisfied smile crosses her lips. She saw a pink cotton pajamas on the dinning, also a dirty underwear close to it.
"Is this what been rich feels like?" She pointed at the underwear with a slight frown on her amused face.
"Common! I was rushing to school, okay?".
"I thought you were saying you are used to been drunk". She pinched up the pant "If i love pink, i would have kidnapped it".
"They don't kidnap things, they steal it".
"Did i tell you i made my English and literature classes with A+?" Melissa threw the pant on Molly's face.
Molly laughed, she walkes over to the dinning and picked her belongings, arranging the house in the process.
"I just want to kidnap it and ask for a random". Melissa smiles as she walked behind Molly into her room.
"How much?".
"Just fifty million dollars".
Molly gasped "you are one greedy bitch".
Melissa chuckled, obviously, she knew that she was more than been greedy.
The appearance of the room was something Melissa had only saw in movies or magazine. The white king side bed could eventually pay her rent.
With her palm over her mouth, Melissa turned to catch Molly starring at her with a white small gift box on her palm.
"I think I found something".
Molly smiled, handing the gift box to Melissa.
