"Yeah." Steve Burton lazily leaned back on the sofa behind him, picked up the glass of water Ruby Gregory brought for him, took a sip, and then raised his eyelids to look at Ruby who was still standing in front of him. He tilted his body slightly and patted the empty seat next to him, saying, "Sit down."
Ruby hesitated for a moment, walked over and sat down. As she leaned closer to him, his familiar subtle scent entered her nose, and she unconsciously became nervous, a different kind of nervousness than before, with a touch of shyness.
Unfortunately, after she sat down, Steve's eyes remained on her, making her even more nervous, to the point that her face gradually flushed red.
Ruby instinctively searched for a topic to alleviate this ambiguous and awkward atmosphere: "You don't seem too busy today, finishing the paperwork so early."
"Hmm." Steve responded, realizing that his answer was brief, he added, "I was dealing with some backlog files the past few days."
