Chapter 69: Blood

Finally being in a safe place, Ling Yue couldn't maintain her strong facade anymore and collapsed on floor as she clutched her stomach. The claws of the panther had dug deep into her stomach and the only reason she was endure it was before of the adrenaline rush and the will to get out of this place with Li Wei, safe.

But even now, she didn't scream or cry but only shut her eyes tightly not to worry Li Wei much. Silently leaning in his arms as he carefully took her into his embrace she breathed a sigh of relief and closed her eyes.

"Y-Yueyue.. See me. D-Don't close your e-eyes. Look at me.. " Li Wei's voice quivered as he looked at her torn shirt and those deep cuts on her belly. The claw was too big for her belly and the front of her dress was drenched in blood. Li Wei wanted to beat himself for not realizing this earlier. Not like he could do anything except panicking, but he regretted not listening to her and dragging towards that panther. She warned hi that there was danger ahead. He didn't heed. And she got hurt while protecting him.

"Hmm.. Don't be scared.. It is just b-blood loss. I-I will be Grghhhh....." Ling Yue twitched and jerked a little when her stomach suddenly contracted and more blood leaked out. She started panting and her lips lost colour scaring Li Wei further. He lifted her in his arms and took her to bedroom. The house had the same setting as it had when Jiang Yuan lived but with modern appliance fixed.

He didn't how Ling Yue found out about this place but that was not the main concern here. The house looked like it wasn't cleaned for a long time and hence had dust everywhere. So he just removed the white blankets on the bed and place Ling Yue directly on the mattress.

His movements were extremely gentle and he made sure that her wound didn't hurt her. But however her injury was painfully throbbing and Ling Yue was trying to control her breathe since even Lung expansion was hurting her now. Placing her on the bed, Li Wei first removed her outer white jacket whose front was now crimson. Ling Yue bit her lips not to scream and scare him.

Li Wei ran into the kitchen first and saw if the water connection was working and thankfully it was. There were few utensils present too and he cleaned a bowl first before filling it with water and going back to Ling Yue. Looking at her clutching her stomach and writhing on bed helpless pained him.

"Yueyue. Let me see the wound. Let us clean it first.." Li Wei made an attempt to pull her closer but she flinched back and shook her head. Her forehead was covered in sweat.

"It is going to be okay sweetheart.. We can't let it get infected. Let me clean the wound first.." Li Wei coaxed her gently but Ling Yue started crying and tried to move further and further back making her bleeding worse.

"Ling Yue.. Don't do that." Li Wei held her tightly and tried to lift her shirt up but her trembling words stopped him.

"B-Brother Yuan.. Sorryy.. Grghh.. S-s-sorry.. Don't h-hurt me. Please. I am s-sorry." Ling Yue spoke while still trying to push Li Wei away. Li Wei was shocked hearing this. What was she speaking?

Ahhh.... Her muffled scream brought him out of his thoughts and he held both of her hands while hugging her.

"Shhh... My love. Shh.. I won't hurt you. I am not here to hurt you. Stop moving.." Li Wei gently said as he cleaned her wound with a wet kerchief. But soon he understood it was all useless as the blood flow didn't stop at all and even the bed sheet which he pressed against her bully was damp with her blood.

His eyes stung and he felt a lump in his throat looking at her condition. The wound was deep and Ling Yue was now struggling to stay conscious. A tear escaped his eyes as he blamed himself again and again for what had happened. It was supposed to be beautiful morning. But it turned out deadly with Ling Yue's life in danger. He was supposed to be waiting nervously for her reply to his love confession, not helplessly holding her body which was turning cold. Probably Ling Yue had already given him the answer. She didn't think twice before putting her life on peril for him.

His phone had no connection here and he didn't know how to get any help in these mountains. In all his 25 years, having power at his disposal to use it as he pleased, never encountering a life-threatening situation, never used to see his family in pain, it was Li Wei's first time witnessing how vulnerable a human can be.

"Y-Yueyue. What s-should I do? Y-You can-not le-leave me again. Okay? P-Please" Li Wei's voice came out so broken and incoherent to understand.

Zzzz.....

The sudden wind harsh wind inside the closed house startled Li Wei making him defensive and vigilant again. But soon he realized it was not the enemy, but something fantastic and mythical surrounding him and Ling Yue. The black and red dragon which once protected Xenxi floated again in front of his eyes in the small room. It's form was translucent but still bright and breath taking. Though wonderful beyond words, Li Wei still didn't leave his protecting grip on Ling Yue.

"Where did your son take my pumpkin?" Uncle Shen questioned Father Li who was lazily sitting on the couch and hearing his friend shout and complain early in the morning. Both were still in their pyjamas and Father Li was yawning as he stretched his hands and legs.

"They both are not kids buddy. They both are now adults. Stop making a fuss early .. Yawn... early in the morning." Father Li now started regretting not kicking this man away to Shen Mansion.

"That is what I am scared of. That they both are not kids anymore. Wahhhh.." Uncle Shen replied and Father Li rolled his eyes.

"Tch.. Ling. They might have wanted to spend some time with each other and get know one another better. We should not stop them." Father Li said further raising Uncle Shen's blood pressure.

"What is there to know about each other? And are they not seeing each other daily that they wanted to spend some extra time? What nonsense? I am going to check CCTV. Look at what I am going to do if I find out your son did something funny to my baby girl." Uncle Shen mumbled as he made his way to the security room of the Mansion. Father Li too dragged his feet behind him.

Walking into the room, father Li and Uncle Shen looked at the sleeping guards and pursed their lips. Making his way to the screen, Uncle Shen started checking and found them both going out at 1 am in the morning. What the hell? His baby girl was always so disciplined and never roamed around carelessly in the night. This must be Li Wei who corrupted her brain.

"Does Wei have a driver license?" Uncle Shen asked, his voice dark making Father Li gulp a little. He thought hard to remember if his son has a license or not. Who knew? He just gifted it some time ago and didn't bother to check about his driving skills.

Father Li simply shrugged and Uncle Shen took a deep breathe not to kick his friend. Making their way back into the mansion, they saw Mother Li tending to Xiao Bai and DouDou. Uncle Shen ran to his sister to make her aware about his grievances.

"Do you know what Li Wei did? He took Ling Yue out in the middle of the night. That too on a bike? And your husband doesn't even know if his son has a license or not." Mother sighed hearing the noise. Why can't these people simply wish good morning to each other?

"Brother. They are adults. They know what they want to do. And they are responsible kids. Look here." Mother Li showed him her phone where Li Wei and Ling Yue had messaged her that they are going out. Though they didn't mention the location since they themselves didn't decide where they wanted to go.

Father Li smirked at Uncle Shen. 'Told ya' - written all over his face. Uncle Shen simply pursed his lips and sat back on the couch while stroking DouDou's fur. They both have got quite attached and DouDou got a new anti-Li Wei fan into his club.

Soon they all got ready for the new day and assembled at the dining table. Li Mei too got ready for her school and sat down to have her breakfast. But now Mother Li was worried since Ling Yue and Li Wei had not returned yet. And they weren't taking her calls either.

DING .. DING ..

The door bell rang and the butler went to open it. They weren't expecting anyone so everyone looked at the door. Soon the butler came in, but not alone. Two men walked behind him holding few bags and a big box. Everyone raised their eyebrows looking at the gifts coming in. These days their home had been under the continuous flood of gifts because of Ling Yue.

"What's happening?" Li Mei asked and one of the delivery man spoke up.

"These are all ordered by Miss Ling Yue. This is the address she wanted these things to be delivered to." The delivery man answered and everyone left their breakfast and went to look at the gifts. The butler paid the delivery men and showed them the way out.

"Woah.. I got a play station."

"I got head phones, and a new bag. Hehe"

"I got a new video game."

"Hmm.. They both went to night street." Mother Li said as she looked at the address on her gift. Her mood was somewhat down even after receiving the gift. She wanted to know if these both were fine or not.

"MOM.. DAD. UNCLE. MEIMEI.. MOM.." everyone downstairs were startled by the sudden shout from upstairs. Li Wei? When did he get in? Just as they thought, Li Wei dashed down the stairs making everyone's eyes go wide in horror. His white shirt was completely drenched in red blood and he looked pale and shaken.

"Gege.. What happened to you?" Li Mei cried out looking at her brother. Li parents were too shocked looking at their son like this. Even the butler and the maids were scared looking at the scene.

"Go and look after Yueyue.. She is hurt. I will get the doctor." Li Wei got the car keys and sprinted out to get the doctor as soon as possible. He could even call someone but he didn't know if he could stay sane waiting for a doctor.

No one had time to even stop him and ask what happened. Everyone broke from their stupor when Ling Yue's pet trio dashed upstairs and started screaming loudly. They too went upstairs in a hurry and went to Li Wei's room. Mother Li almost fainted off looking at the blood soaked bed and Ling Yue lying on it motionlessly.

Li Mei gasped and was no less shocked than others. It was Uncle Shen and Father Li who went in first and tried to control the blood flow. Everyone were aghast looking at the profound marks on stomach. Li Mei adjusted the pillows behind Ling Yue and Mother Li held a soft towel against her stomach to stop the bleeding but the cut was just too deep to stop without stitches.

Ling Yue didn't respond no matter how many times they called her. Everyone was scared and clueless while the pets were roaming frenzy around the room. Li Wei returned back in less than twenty minutes with their family doctor who was still in pyjamas.
