Aiden exchanged a knowing smirk with Chris. "We've been having a little … war … of our own already. But we'll work together any time you want," Aiden replied.
Derek nodded. "Well, we'll need to plan. We have a jeep now and six uniforms. Now we need to start thinking bigger so we can get more ammo for the attacks."
Aiden nodded, and then looked around the room at his family. All of them nodded. "We're in."
"Good," Derek said, shaking his hand, and then he asked Pops, "Do you mind if we use your water hose to clean up the jeep?"
"Out back," Pops answered, motioning toward the back of the house. "Listen, I want all of you to stay for dinner. You probably need a good meal."
"We really appreciate it," Derek replied, "but there's more of us out there and we really need to get back." Then, he pushed back his chair and rose to his feet. We all followed him into the living room. Pops nodded to Travis. As if given a silent order, Travis headed back toward the kitchen.
