This Hero and The Hostage Situation!

We approached the fortified position that the infiltration group had set. On the corner, several rogues lied in wait as they turned to watch us approach.

"Kany-san, are they going to handle it?" One of the men asked. Kany replied by flashing a smile towards him. The man let out a sigh that seemed to carry the stress inside of him as he turned back towards the nearby building.

I approached the corner and peeked my head out from it. Before me was a building with a single shut door and a glass window. Inside of the window, a young...ish looking dwarf was being held by their small beard by a hobgoblin. A knife was held to their throat as they stayed frighteningly still.

"Have they made any demands?" I asked.

"No. They're just standing in there. We know that they're going to attack if we go any further though." Kany answered.

I crouched down and cupped my chin.

"Okay…" I whispered.
