When they arrived back in the dorm rooms, the two roommates both took their respective items out of their storage tools. Wang Dong took out his Western Spirit Mushroom and Yuhao took out the Secret Law Spirit Arm Bone. He allowed Amra to release a smidgen of his spiritual power to perfectly recreate it in Yuhao's mind, allowing him to analyse it over time.
Once Amra finished, Yuhao placed it back in his storage bracer before taking out the Reaper Panther's Left Leg Bone. With his cultivation technique able to generate origin energy for him to increase the ages of his spirit rings and spirit bones, the earlier he absorbs them, the earlier they can rise in age.
He controlled his spirit power to extend outwards and connect with the energy of the spirit bone. His energy began interweaving before the spirit bone dissolved into energy and entered his body. It rapidly flowed from his chest and stomach, down into his left leg. Once it reached there the energy built up, giving him a pleasurable feeling throughout his leg bones before settling down.
As it did, information regarding the name of the skill and its respective abilities appeared in his mind. Just as Du Weilun said, the bone gave him an ability called 'Stalking Reaper', allowing him to become incorporeal. Additionally, due to being incorporeal, he will be able to travel through all kinds of solid objects and matter. This skill has both a positive and negative to it, as while he will be immune to physical attacks, he will also be unable to perform his own physical attacks.
As usual with the absorption of any spirit bone or spirit ring, his bloodline essence quickly flowed down into the bone and caused it to evolve. After a few seconds, the evolution had finished, leaving behind an evolved bone and skill. The new bone had the same skill attached to it, however, there were two slight modifications to it. While staying in the incorporeal state, the spirit power cost to do so is reduced, as well as his energy signature and presence is diminished. Overall, the spirit bone would provide the perfect skillset for an assassin, and with Yuhao, it only helped to boost the insane versatility in attacks and abilities he already had.
With the spirit bone absorbed, following Wang Dong's example, Yuhao also took out his own Western Spirit Mushroom and prepared to consume it. Due to the mildness and passivity of this specific immortal herb's energies, neither of them had to worry about consuming it straight after the Mystic Water Pill, and it would also strengthen their foundations.
Yuhao placed the mushroom in his mouth, chewed and swallowed. As the herb entered his stomach, its energies gradually began spreading through his inner organs. His internal organs in his chest gradually grew to an extremely comfortable warm, as if he had just drunk a hot chocolate on a cold day. He couldn't help but hum at the feeling, something which was reciprocated, based on his roommates just barely audible moans.
As the two roommates finished absorbing the mushroom, with Yuhao's metabolism breaking down and absorbing the energies at a rapid rate, both spirit masters had cultivation breakthroughs. Yuhao broke smoothly into rank thirty-seven through the combined efforts of the spirit bone and herb. Likewise, Wang Dong broke through, all the way to rank thirty in one go. They both continued to cultivate all afternoon and night to ensure they absorbed any residual energies and Wang Dong also had to ensure his breakthrough and cultivation was stable.
The next morning, the duo showered, they put on a set of clean uniforms, then ate breakfast. After becoming a core disciple, one would receive a badge specially meant for core disciples. The badge was dark green and had a golden border. With the core disciple badge, they were treated completely different within the academy. As an example, they were able to eat the best type of food in the canteen. The nourishment and nutrition provided by this food was guaranteed, and even provided a certain amount of help towards their cultivations.
The two of them ate a hearty meal, then returned to their dorm room to cultivate for a while. Afterwards, they headed towards their classroom. Today was the first day for the official Year One classes. With Yuhao and Wang Dong being in the control and assault spirit master classifications, they were both in the same class one as they previously had been.
When they entered the class, the students who had arrived earlier, and the subsequent students who arrived after them, all gazed in their direction. They were well known by now for their feats in the tournament and everyone wanted to get a look at who the rumours were based on.
Close to ten minutes later, Wang Yan entered and greeted the class. "Welcome everyone to your first lesson as a part of class one. As you should all be aware, my name is Wang Yan and I will be teaching you, alongside my colleague Zhou Yi, who is arriving later, for the remainder of the year."
This spurned all the students to greet them in return, "Good Morning Teacher Wang!"
As he moved to stand behind the podium, Wang Yan said, "Next up, we'll be electing the class monitor and assistant class monitor of our class. Our class consists of assault-type and control-type spirit masters, so each monitor will be in charge of a single System. We'll be re-electing both monitors each month."
What followed was Wang Dong and Huo Yuhao both being nominated and voted in for the positions. They were both the strongest, or one of the strongest in the class, which meant that despite them not actively participating in the voting and trying to be voted in unlike some of the prideful guys, they were still seen as the best option by the majority. Hence, Yuhao ended becoming the class monitor in charge of the control-type students and Wang Dong similarly became the assistant class monitor in charge of the assault-type students.
As soon as the class was settled, Zhou Yi confidently and coldly stormed through the door. Without even gazing in her colleague's direction, she shouted coldly, "Everyone, stand up!"
All of the previous members of Class One and some high-disciplined students immediately stood up. However, this number only accounted for thirty-eight of the sixty-seven students in the class. What came next surprised many of them, and if someone asked Yuhao, greatly amused him.
When Huang Chutian, the first late-to-stand-up student called by Zhou Yi not only questioned her but had the audacity to laugh in her face at the 'seriousness' of her, he was promptly thrown out the window like unwanted trash. His shriek as he flew gracefully through the air was horrible and all of the students could hear him complaining loudly just outside the window about how he broke his arm when he landed. When he refused to be quiet, Zhou Yi flared her spirit power and Huang Chutian was never heard from again.
Once all of the, now obedient, late-to-stand-up students were out in the hall, Zhou Yi marked her territory by saying, "I'll now announce two pieces of information. Firstly, the class monitors will not change and will stay as-is with Huo Yuhao as the control system monitor and Wang Dong as the assault system monitor. Secondly, from today onwards, anyone who dares to question a teacher's decisions will directly be expelled. If you are a core disciple, I will simply remove you from my class forever."
At this statement, several gulps could be heard by the students as they held back their questions and comments. However, one student, who was either fearless or stupid, which in this case was stupidity, due to a certain hammer, in a certain fight, still asked a question, "Teacher Zhou, wasn't the class monitor supposed to be elected?"
Zhou Yi's gaze snapped to him, "Are you deaf as well as stupid? I have no time for you. Get out of my class."
Before he was able to react, Zhou Yi had appeared right in front of him. She grabbed onto his collar and just like his predecessor, he was casually thrown out of the classroom window. His 'lover' Zhu Lu looked in the direction of the window with a sour and distraught look, before soundlessly slumping in her chair in defeat.
With these actions, the students both within and outside the classroom all suddenly became extremely obedient. Even though Wang Yan may have greater formal authority in the academy, the students had all unanimously come to the conclusion not to mess with or question Zhou Yi under any circumstances.
Hope you all enjoyed the chapter. Starting to really change canon as we skip through events! And yes, Dai Huabin has become slightly stupid. Not enough to stop functioning or knowing things in general, but enough to not really be aware of how he should be acting in certain situations. Let me know in the comments funny ways this can cause issues for Huabin!
