The Farmers

While all this is going on, in the countryside of Northern Ireland a teenager who just turned 19 is chopping wood with a small hand axe from a large pile of logs, while a large pile of already chopped wood is at the other side of him. Sweat is lashing off him as hand axes aren't meant to chop wood the size of those logs, and it takes multiple swings to break them. Just as he finishes breaking a log a black collie with white spots runs up to him and starts nudging him "Damn another three logs and I'm done, but of course you have to come now don't you Ban" He laughs and says to the dog while ruffling his fur, the dog just wags his tail and starts to lick William while also nudging him away from the wood.

"Alright alright I get it I'm coming you will get your food in a minute, but if you try to steal a sausage again then I might not give you anything" when Ban hears this he lays down and starts whining at William while giving him the iconic puppy eyes. "Alright stop that already if your good you might MIGHT get a sausage, but only if you go find mum and dad" William sighs and says to the dog. Ban barks then goes running off towards a nearby field that has bales in it. William then turns round and goes into the small house nearby and starts to cook the dinner for all of them before Ban brings them back, as they need to get going again straight away to milk the cows.

A few minutes later distant barking can be heard and soon two people and a dog can be seen walking towards the house, when they enter the house 2 plates and a dog bowl are full of food and all three get stick in while there is already and empty plate "You know sometimes I wonder was it right to make William a farmer like us or would he have been better off being a normal 19 year old and partying on the weekends instead of just farming all the time" the man muses while eating his tea. "It doesn't matter what would have happened if he was normal he chose the farmer life and unless something drastic happens he will continue on with the farmer life now eat your food and lets get going cause I want to actually get to bed before 3 tonight" the woman replies.

After they finish eating they both head out while Ban walks into the next room and lies down on William and promptly falls asleep "Come on Ban you can't keep doing this anymore your too big to be sleeping on me" he whispers to the sleeping dog, but Ban doesnt move trapping William to the sofa as who really wants to wake a sleeping doggo?

Due to the sleeping dog William also falls asleep until his parents get back from milking the cows and when they see their son and dog both sleeping they slightly chuckle and put a blanket over the two of them before heading to bed themselves, during the night William's phone starts to ring and on the screen the name Annabel pops up but the boy and dog don't hear it as it is in his bedroom and they are still on the sofa, and continue sleeping.

When everyone wakes up they go about their morning routine (its now Saturday btw) with mum and dad going out to check the chickens and William and Ban checking the sheep and making breakfast for everyone when they all get back, William finally checks his phone after his mum and dad pop down to the nearby town to get some food for tea and sees that Annabel called him twice and sent multiple messages to him during the night, her texts are asking him if he's alright and if so to call her immediately which confuses him as she never acts so worried about anything, the only thing he can think of is that she has to go to another cross country tournament and won't be able to see him for a while as that has happened a few times before but even then she wasn't this frantic he quickly calls her back but this time she doesn't pickup so he decides to watch a bit of tv as he has a bit of down time before his parents get back. But when he turns it on and goes to a news channel he is momentarily stunned as he hears about people discussing about the quickly spreading zombie hoards around the world and that lots of small countries have been nearly overwhelmed as their military aren't as good as bigger countries, one of these smaller countries is Northern Ireland and lots of small towns in the countryside have already been overrun with the zombies, when William hears this his blood runs cold has he thinks about Annabel and his parents and quickly grabs a strange set of keys from the key rack and races out the house with Ban close behind as when he saw the keys he ran after William...
