CHAPTER 20

For the past 5 hours now, a small port town in the Grandline had experience one of the most destructive events since it had been established. Most, if not all of the people who had lived in the town were either dead or choose remained in hiding due to the explosions that were still happening in the town.

Deep in town, multiple loud sounds could be heard as two powerful individuals fought against each other. The first individual named Enzo, who probably stood between 10 feet to 12 feet tall, his whole body is covered in white fur, he is in his human-animal hybrid form. The man was using his bare hands as he fought his opponent, name Jack. Jack's is an equally tall and heavy built man. Jack's weapon of choice was a long curved blade, one in each hand.

Sparks would be occasionally be produced as fist and sword collided in mid-air. The longer the fight the more upset Jack became, his eyes would be more bloodshot every hour that passes. Steam or smoke would occasionally be released by the body of Jack as he removes the ice patches the Enzo would inflict on him.

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of town, pirates having animal body parts, ranging from their limbs being that of various animals, faces that have the features of animals or tails coming out of their backs are seen fighting marines that were probably triple their numbers. But even with this numbers advantage the bringers of Justice, the marines, were still having trouble subduing the pirates.

The pirates in front of them weren't ordinary pirate crew members, no, the pirates they were fighting were people that had come from the New World, a place where strength is respected. Even if they were mere crew members, their fighting capabilities outranks the marines that were only assigned in the Grandline.

Their commanding officer, Rear Admiral Akehende, who at first was able to take advantage of a surprise attack on the pirates, is now fighting multiple gifters. Each gifter had powerful animal features that have kept the officer from helping his crew.

'Damn it, if this keeps up my crew will be slaughtered. I can't allow this', Akehende thought as he deflects a sword slash aimed at his midsection. Seeing an opportunity to counter, he adjusted himself to stab the person in front of me. The pirate in front of him had his sword arm transform into that of a gorilla causing his swings to be more powerful. The moment his sword was about to stab him something hit his sword causing the blade to be deflected from its trajectory.

"CLANG"

"Oh no, you don't. Hahahahahaha", another pirate said as he mocks Akehende. On the arm of the pirate were the pointed spikes of a porcupine, this was what he used to deflect Akehende's sword.

For the past few hours now, 7 pirates who had perfect teamwork had successfully prevented Akehende from killing anyone of them. In the past 5 hours, Akehende had multiple opportunities to kill any one of them but before he could deal them with a killing blow, someone would rescue the pirate that he was about to slaughter, this time it was the pirate that had porcupine abilities that acted.

"Shit", Akehende said.

"BANG!! BANG!!!"

"BANG!!! BANG!!!"

Akehende looks at his side and he could see multiple pirates killing his crew. Even if they were more numerous, his crew weren't powerful enough to fight the pirates that had made havoc in the New World. Seeing this, Akehende regretted engaging Jack's crew members, maybe he should have just waited for the reinforcements to arrive.

Akehende sighed as he once again resolved himself to kill the pirates that were fighting him.

MARINE HEADQUARTERS:

Fleet Admiral Sengoku is seen standing in the window of his office, he showed a serious expression on his face as he watched the various activities that the marines were doing in the training field and in the port. The only sound that could be heard was the chewing sound that his pet goat is making, which is currently found in the side of the room.

Suddenly a tall man entered his office.

"Ara, Ara. What a mess", the man said as he scratches the back of his head. The man had a standard marine uniform, and on his forehead, you can see an eye mask. In fact, the eyes of the man were clearly red due to waking up from a good sleep recently.

"Seriously, Kuzan what took you so long?", Senguko said as he looks at one of his 3 Marine Admirals.

"Don't blame me, the Celestial Dragon wanted to tour Saboady far longer than planned. Besides, where are Sakazuki and Borsalino any way? Why did you need to call me back into the base so soon?", Kuzan asked as he took a seat on one of the free chairs in the room.

"Sakazuki is still returning to HQ, while I sent Borsalino in the New World, just in case if more Beast Pirates are traveling towards the Grandline. I called you in because I have disturbing news, Jack the Drought, has been spotted in the Grandline. There is a huge chance that his target is the Enzo Lockhart", Sengoku said.

"Hmm.. the Pirate Hunter in the Grandline? It makes sense, the man is a zoan fruit eater, plus it's a mythical creature. Someone like him would surely garner the attention of Kaido. But for Kaido to sent Jack into the Grandline to pick him up, he must really want him to be part of his crew", Kuzan stated.

Sengoku shakes his head and said, "Someone like Enzo would never work for a pirate. He would rather die than see that come into fruition. Enzo had made a name for himself in the Grandline, and I want him to fill the soon vacant spot in the Shichibukai", Sengoku said.

"The Shichibukai? Doesn't Garp what that spot to belong to the Fire Fist?", Kuzan asked.

Sengoku snorted and said, " Only Garp is still advocating for that man, besides the Fire Fist rejected the offer".

"So, how did Garp accept that news?",

"The man was pissed. Before he left the base he talked about punching Fire Fist for the stupid decision that he made in rejecting the offer", Sengoku said as he sighed.

"What do you want me to do?", Kuzan asked.

"Jack is currently fighting Enzo right now, but I already took care of that. I send Kuma to help him, he might be already there by now. No, I want you to prepare the base, the ramifications of their battle might anger Kaido. That war freak would gladly use this opportunity to wage war on the marines", Sengoku said.

"What a chore, looks like I won't be able to get back to sleep because of this", Kuzan said as he left the room.
