In a state of exhaustion, with my head throbbing, I wondered if Tom had truly interrogated Meg. Would she actually disclose something to him? I highly doubted that this clueless fellow would achieve any success. The scene unfolded like a chapter in a thrilling novel, filled with horror and ambiguity.

I saw some closing to me

As I struggled with exhaustion, a soft, concerned voice pierced through the haze. "Are you okay?" It was the voice of a young girl, and I immediately recognized it as Jennie's.

"Jennie, is that you?" I managed to respond, my voice strained.

"Yes, it's me," she replied, her voice filled with both relief and worry.

Feeling a wave of gratitude for her presence, I mustered the strength to express my needs. "I need to go to my room," I informed her, my voice barely above a whisper.
