Power of Greed

{Bone Sword: At the cost of fifty points of mana, you can summon a bone sword. With a base power of one per level.}

I ignored that message and focused on the transformation that I was undergoing. However, it wasn't that impressive. The bones of my upper body just became a bit larger… I thought that I would become a skeleton knight or something, but maybe I needed more.

Just to check it, I summoned the bone sword and I actually felt a bit stronger just by holding it. Its effect was working… even though right now it didn't seem more impressive than my real sword. In any case, everything was made of bones, the handle, the blade… perhaps at level five or something, it would be better than the iron sword… but it would need to be used to reach that level.

"I am not strong enough to dual wield both of them… dual wield style is quite retarded as well since a bigger sword swung in both hands can destroy the ones that can be wielded by only one. I guess Sephroth's sword is the only exception, but even that one was supposed to be wielded by two hands."

While I was thinking about that… the next monster appeared and I just burned it to death since I needed some time to think. Grinding in that floor for a while longer certainly will be useful… but maybe the other floors will be more efficient. The only problem was the fact that I didn't know what kind of sin would level up in the next floors.

Between the certain and the uncertain, I decided to stay on that floor, but I was also too impatient, so I decided to speed things up by using Envious Flame. Only two of them were enough to turn those guys into fuel, so I became their living nightmare.

"Who am I kidding? Why am I looking for a challenge against minions? The cool stuff is against the bosses. Besides, a system is meant to be used to ignore the boring parts and skip to the adventure. Let's start by gathering skills like I captured Pokemon and then used the best and coolest ones later."

While I didn't care about the vampire queen that much, I also had her time limit… to be honest, I wasn't sure if I could become strong enough to free myself in just one week, so I had to be a bit cautious. With that in mind, perhaps I should mess around a little less and be more serious about gaining power.

After five more fights, my mana was about to end, and I managed to achieve my first goal… all had one skill for each sin now. However, I couldn't help but frown on how Lost Money actually could work. The seven deadly sins system was pretty hard to understand… in any case, I heard the sound of coins falling on the ground, and then I found five copper coins on the side of the corpse of the creature… they seemed real enough when I touched them.

"Well, this should come in handy eventually."

Although that kind of skill didn't seem that useful in combat, it had an interesting mechanic, so I was getting more interested in the power of Greed… if they all were interesting like that, it would be more fun than going full uga-uga and focusing on a power build… not like my power wouldn't increase while I stayed there.

In any case, soon enough, I didn't have any more mana to fight… so when the first plant-thing fell from the ceiling, I threw the bone sword at its body. When it was about to pierce its head, the monster grabbed the weapon with its tentacles… it certainly had some level of strength.

Still, after using half of its vines to block the bone sword, the creature had a hard time stopping my downward slash after I jumped and then swung down the sword. The vines slowed down my attack a bit, but they also were chopped down. In the next moment, the beast grabbed one of my arms and completely stopped my swing while it also tried to punch my stomach with the other hand.

"Not today, bitch."

I raised my left knee and blocked the attack… that hurt a bit, but I at least avoided a more difficult scenario. In the next moment, I headbutted the bone sword that the vines were holding and since the monster had weakened its grip, I pushed the weapon until it pierced one of the enemies eyes.

The creature grunted in pain, and then I pulled back my sword before swinging all my might from one side to the other… in the next moment, the sword cleaved through the side of the monster… it didn't reach any vital organs, but when I pulled the weapon, a lot of blood gushed from the wound and the monster trembled in shock. Finishing it off afterward was easy with a single slash at its throat.

"I guess this much is all right. It will become easier soon enough, but battles like that are meant to be this way when I have such a system."
