It has been two weeks since the incident at Francine's estate. According to Mill, the vampires that had been sent to help out would be returning soon.
Mauve frowned, she had absolutely enjoyed not seeing Otis' face at the table. However, Mack had to go with them so she was at least glad he was coming back.
It had definitely explained why Otis was in a cranky mood on that particular day and had wanted to take out his anger on Mill.
It still annoyed Mauve that he probably wouldn't have had anything to say about Mill if it wasn't for her.
She had heard nothing from Louis since that day and it has been even harder to get him alone.
"If I didn't know better, I would think the piece of steak pissed you off," Jael suddenly said, pulling her out of her thoughts.
She slowly lifted her head to look at him, "Sorry, I was distracted."
"I noticed," he replied. His brows dipped as he stared intensely at her, "Should I be concerned?"
