Casey frowned. This was supposed to be a quick errand but things had gotten needlessly complicated.
For one, she realized that she didn’t have a license or ID. She had been extra careful driving to the store. She also only had the leftover cash that Lavinia had given her to buy what she needed.
She really should have asked for more money, just in case.
But she had left too quickly to get any more. Now, she found herself having to decide between brands of string lights. This had been the ‘very important’ item that she needed.
She didn’t want to waste Lavinia’s time with string lights but Casey wanted them badly. She had already gotten everything else she needed, and she was tired of using the ancient lamp in her room.
The final thing that was nagging at her was Lavinia. It wasn’t anything bad, Casey was just worried that she had made the woman uncomfortable.
