Daniel clenched his jaw as he stood in front of Ashton, his frustration simmering just beneath the surface. "Where is your mother, Natalie?" he demanded, his voice low and tense. "I need to know where she is right now."
Ashton didn't even lift his head, his attention focused intently on the document sprawled before him. The silence between them stretched, thick with tension, as Daniel's impatience grew.
Marching forward, Daniel grabbed Ashton's shirt and yanked him up from his seat. "Are you satisfied now? You and your mother are both jerks who only know how to blame others for the unfortunate events in your lives!"
Ashton slowly raised his head, gazing coldly at Daniel. "You think you know everything, don't you? For a year, I believed my mother was dead, and now I find out she's been playing everyone like pawns. I feel just as dumb as you think I am."
